In the kitchen, which was recently remodeled by the previous owners, we wanted to keep as many of the newer elements (that were just purchased) as possible. However, we did also want to incorporate some new MCM wood accents back into the space to tie it to the living room, dining room and breakfast areas. We added all new walnut cabinets on the refrigerator wall, which balances the new geometric wood accent wall in the breakfast area. We also incorporated new quartz countertops, new streamlined plumbing fixtures and new lighting fixtures to add modern MCM appeal. In addition, we added a geometric marble backsplash and diamond shaped cabinet hardware at the bar and on some of the kitchen drawers.

The term “industrial” evokes images of large factories with lots of machinery and moving parts. These cavernous, old brick buildings, built with steel and concrete are being rehabilitated into very desirable living spaces all over the country. Old manufacturing spaces have unique architectural elements that are often reclaimed and repurposed into what is now open residential living space. Exposed ductwork, concrete beams and columns, even the metal frame windows are considered desirable design elements that give a nod to the past. This unique loft space is a perfect example of the rustic industrial style. The exposed beams, brick walls, and visible ductwork speak to the building’s past. Add a modern kitchen in complementing materials and you have created casual sophistication in a grand space. Our client was looking for a dramatic look for their favorite room in the house. Our design team rolled up their sleeves and created a loft style kitchen that was inline with the clients industrial vision. We focused on very functional storage so that we could minimize upper cabinets and maximize an exposed, full wall brick backsplash. This was a bold design that the client will love for many years to come.

Updated Eichler design kitchen. Walnut cabinets with a white quartz waterfall countertop. Fresh green glass backsplash tile makes for a fun accent. Cable lighting solved the issue of having the typical tongue and groove Eichler ceiling.

L’intervento di interior design si colloca nell’ambito di un terzo piano di un edificio residenziale pluri-famigliare sito in un’area di recente espansione edilizia. L’edificio di nuova progettazione ospita all’ultimo piano una mansarda con tetto in legno a vista. Il progetto di layout abitativo si pone l’obiettivo di valorizzare i caratteri di luminosità e rapporto con l’esterno, grazie anche alla presenza di una terrazzo di rilevanti dimensioni connesso con la zona living. Di notevole interesse la cucina con penisola centrale e cappa cilindrica monolitica, incastonata nella copertura in legno. Il livello delle finiture, dell’arredo bagno e dei complementi di arredo, sono di alto livello. Tutti i mobili sono stati disegnati dai progettisti e realizzati su misura. Infine, sono stati studiati e scelti, in sinergia con il cliente, tutti i corpi illuminanti che caratterizzano l’unità abitativa ed il vano scale privato di accesso alla mansarda.
