This project was a typical suburban house that the owner wanted to modernize. The home was only 10 years old so we reused the cabinets and appliances. We lowered the bar and added some farmhouse style accents.

The Ascension - Super Ranch on Acreage in Ridgefield Washington by Cascade West Development Inc. for the Clark County Parade of Homes 2016. As soon as you pass under the timber framed entry and through the custom 8ft tall double-doors you’re immersed in a landscape of high ceilings, sharp clean lines, soft light and sophisticated trim. The expansive foyer you’re standing in offers a coffered ceiling of 12ft and immediate access to the central stairwell. Procession to the Great Room reveals a wall of light accompanied by every angle of lush forest scenery. Overhead a series of exposed beams invite you to cross the room toward the enchanting, tree-filled windows. In the distance a coffered-box-beam ceiling rests above a dining area glowing with light, flanked by double islands and a wrap-around kitchen, they make every meal at home inclusive. The kitchen is composed to entertain and promote all types of social activity; large work areas, ubiquitous storage and very few walls allow any number of people, large or small, to create or consume comfortably. An integrated outdoor living space, with it’s large fireplace, formidable cooking area and built-in BBQ, acts as an extension of the Great Room further blurring the line between fabricated and organic settings. A mix of white painted and stained walnut cabinetry, with brass accents in the hardware and lighting - make this kitchen the showstopper in the house. Cezanne quartzite brings in color and movement to the countertops, and the brass mosaic backsplash adds texture and great visual interest to the walls.

Renovation of a 1952 Midcentury Modern Eichler home in San Jose, CA. Full remodel of kitchen, main living areas and central atrium incl flooring and new windows in the entire home - all to bring the home in line with its mid-century modern roots, while adding a modern style and a touch of Scandinavia.

A talented interior designer was ready for a complete redo of her 1980s style kitchen in Chappaqua. Although very spacious, she was looking for better storage and flow in the kitchen, so a smaller island with greater clearances were desired. Grey glazed cabinetry island balances the warm-toned cerused white oak perimeter cabinetry. This L-shaped island and bench seat kitchen has been one of our most popular designs in our showroom at 1499 West 3500 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84115. The design is by Emily Haroldsen one of our in-house designers. The cabinets are by KitchenCraft and feature both Wilsonart High-Def Laminate on the back countertop. My top design goal was to create a functional workshop for cooking that improved the client's lifestyle. The layout was key: especially using separate food prep and clean-up sinks to create individual workstations. The step-in corner pantry is a very efficient use of floor space and maximizes not only storage capacity but also visibility—the client opens one door and can see everything she has on hand at a glance. This is the feature she likes best. The husband is the primary cook and he loves the high-BTU burner Wolf rangetop. It accommodates his 13-inch All-Clad saute pan with ease and makes all his stovetop cooking faster, better, and more fun.
