Kitchen in a 1926 bungalow done to my clients brief that it should look 'original' to the house. The three stars of the kitchen are the immaculately restored 1928 high-oven WEDGWOOD stove, the SubZero refrigerator/freezer disguised to look like a vintage ice-box, complete with vintage hardware, and the kitchen island, designed to reference a farm-house table with a pie-save underneath, done in ebonized oak and painted bead-board. The floor is lip-stick red Marmoleum with double inlaid black borders, the counters are honed black granite, and the cabinets, walls, and trim are painted a soft cream-color taken from a 1926 Dutch Boy paint deck. Every detail of this European villa-style home exudes a uniquely finished feel. Our design goals were to invoke a sense of travel while simultaneously cultivating a homely and inviting ambience. This project reflects our commitment to crafting spaces seamlessly blending luxury with functionality. The kitchen was transformed with subtle adjustments to evoke a Parisian café atmosphere. A new island was crafted, featuring exquisite quartzite countertops complemented by a marble mosaic backsplash. Upgrades in plumbing and lighting fixtures were installed, imparting a touch of elegance. When we were approached us to tackle the kitchen design for this full house remodel, the homeowner had clear expectations of what she wanted her “new” kitchen to resemble. She hoped to create a late 19th century Soda Fountain Shop in her own home. Through a careful design process, we were able to create exactly the look that this discerning homeowner was looking for without giving up and modern conveniences that are found in today’s upscale kitchens. As a design firm, we were lucky that the remodeling process was extensive enough to allow us the freedom to create a space where this family of five could enjoy the comforts of classic Americana in their very own Soda Fountain Shop.

Spectacular unobstructed views of the Bay, Bridge, Alcatraz, San Francisco skyline and the rolling hills of Marin greet you from almost every window of this stunning Provençal Villa located in the acclaimed Middle Ridge neighborhood of Mill Valley. Built in 2000, this exclusive 5 bedroom, 5+ bath estate was thoughtfully designed by architect Jorge de Quesada to provide a classically elegant backdrop for today’s active lifestyle. Perfectly positioned on over half an acre with flat lawns and an award winning garden there is unmatched sense of privacy just minutes from the shops and restaurants of downtown Mill Valley. A curved stone staircase leads from the charming entry gate to the private front lawn and on to the grand hand carved front door. This stunning and spacious kitchen is replete with unique hand-crafted features such as built-ins, a one-of-a-kind beverage station and custom moldings. The Shaker cabinetry with inset doors and beadboard accents provides an authentic farmhouse look and feel, while the gray, yellow and terracotta color scheme adds contrast and an element of colorful flair. The Butterfly Green granite countertops are offset by butcher block countertops, tying in with the other wood elements within the space. Stainless-steel lighting and appliances, a farmhouse sink, and pot filler are modern conveniences perfect for cooking and entertaining.
