This large kitchen remodel expansion included removing a wall to create a larger space and added vaulted ceiling to make this room even more spacious. This kitchen was once an enclosed u-shape kitchen and now with the added space a large island was added and a wall of cabinets for additional space. Palo Alto Traditional Kitchen Renovation as part of whole home renovation. This classic kitchen made of cherry wood includes a built in hood vent, a copper farmhouse sink, an elegant large kitchen island, oil rubbed bronze faucets, a window over the kitchen sink, and recessed lighting. Notice Landmark Metalcoat accent tiles on the backsplash.

Located near the base of Scottsdale landmark Pinnacle Peak, the Desert Prairie is surrounded by distant peaks as well as boulder conservation easements. This 30,710 square foot site was unique in terrain and shape and was in close proximity to adjacent properties. These unique challenges initiated a truly unique piece of architecture. Planning of this residence was very complex as it weaved among the boulders. The owners were agnostic regarding style, yet wanted a warm palate with clean lines. The arrival point of the design journey was a desert interpretation of a prairie-styled home. The materials meet the surrounding desert with great harmony. Copper, undulating limestone, and Madre Perla quartzite all blend into a low-slung and highly protected home. Located in Estancia Golf Club, the 5,325 square foot (conditioned) residence has been featured in Luxe Interiors + Design’s September/October 2018 issue. We started the design process by selecting inspiration colors from Dunn Edwards paints. We chose Rainer White, Dark Lagoon and Mesa Tan colors inspired by a fabric swatch that the client wanted to use somewhere in their home. After the general design and space planning of the kitchen was complete, the clients were shown many colored, 3D renderings to show how it would look before settling on the Dark Lagoon upper cabinets, tall cabinets and pantry. For the island and base cabinets, we chose Alder wood with a stain color that complemented the inspiration color of Mesa Tan. Walls throughout the house were painted Rainer White.

The goal for this remodel was to open up the space between the Kitchen, Dining, and Great Room. There was a long hallway with a Powder Room dividing all of these rooms which made the area choppy. The walls came down, the old Powder Room is now the Pantry, the wet bar is larger, and we were able to repurpose old cabinets. Old cabinets were used to double the size of the original island and expand one appliance wall for added storage. Everything was sanded down to the bare wood and stained so it looks like new!

A gorgeous Kohler Whitehaven Apron Sink was installed, complimenting the polished Quartz countertops, dark stained cabinets, and satin nickel hardware. A convenient countertop platform was installed just behind the sink to create a useable space in front of the bay windows. The upper cabinets on the other side of the windows mirror the style of the double pantry with shaker-style cabinet doors and LED back-lit glass doors on each upper corner. Formerly an 1800's Summer Kitchen, this new kitchen was added along with a great room. Full of chef preferred features, the design blends antique with new to create a space to entertain, relax, and enjoy.

This kitchen island backs up to a fairly narrow walkway, so seating was not an option, as stools would have been too tight. Instead we created 12 inch deep cabinets on the backside to house the owner's Le Creucet collection. For a seamless look, we left off any hardware. All other cabinets in this home have soft-close hinges, with the exception of these, since we chose to leave off the knobs.
