Palo Alto Traditional Kitchen Renovation as part of whole home renovation. This classic kitchen made of cherry wood includes a built in hood vent, a copper farmhouse sink, an elegant large kitchen island, oil rubbed bronze faucets, a window over the kitchen sink, and recessed lighting. Notice Landmark Metalcoat accent tiles on the backsplash.

Located near the base of Scottsdale landmark Pinnacle Peak, the Desert Prairie is surrounded by distant peaks as well as boulder conservation easements. This 30,710 square foot site was unique in terrain and shape and was in close proximity to adjacent properties. These unique challenges initiated a truly unique piece of architecture. Planning of this residence was very complex as it weaved among the boulders. The owners were agnostic regarding style, yet wanted a warm palate with clean lines. The arrival point of the design journey was a desert interpretation of a prairie-styled home. The materials meet the surrounding desert with great harmony. Copper, undulating limestone, and Madre Perla quartzite all blend into a low-slung and highly protected home. Located in Estancia Golf Club, the 5,325 square foot (conditioned) residence has been featured in Luxe Interiors + Design’s September/October 2018 issue. The goal for this remodel was to open up the space between the Kitchen, Dining, and Great Room. There was a long hallway with a Powder Room dividing all of these rooms which made the area choppy. The walls came down, the old Powder Room is now the Pantry, the wet bar is larger, and we were able to repurpose old cabinets. Old cabinets were used to double the size of the original island and expand one appliance wall for added storage. Everything was sanded down to the bare wood and stained so it looks like new!

A gorgeous Kohler Whitehaven Apron Sink was installed, complimenting the polished Quartz countertops, dark stained cabinets, and satin nickel hardware. A convenient countertop platform was installed just behind the sink to create a useable space in front of the bay windows. The upper cabinets on the other side of the windows mirror the style of the double pantry with shaker-style cabinet doors and LED back-lit glass doors on each upper corner. This kitchen island backs up to a fairly narrow walkway, so seating was not an option, as stools would have been too tight. Instead we created 12 inch deep cabinets on the backside to house the owner's Le Creucet collection. For a seamless look, we left off any hardware. All other cabinets in this home have soft-close hinges, with the exception of these, since we chose to leave off the knobs.

This warm kitchen renovation showcases a large island made of Sienna Bordeaux granite tops from Tosca Natural Stone and Starmark Cherrywood Cabinetry with an Ebony glaze. The homeowners expanded their kitchen to accommodate their entertainment needs. We were able to put an 8' island with seating to ground the space with a warm stain on Heartwood Maple on the perimeter by Wood Mode Cabinetry. To follow the modern rustic look we used a cast iron farm sink by Kohler. The homeowners choose Wolf Sub Zero appliances that would make any chef envious. To avoid too much stainless steel we paneled the refrigerator to allow it to blend into the cabinetry. We added a two drawer under counter refrigerator for quick access to drinks at the end of the island.
