This renovation involved expanding the kitchen space into an adjacent office area, creating a side entry, new kitchen layout that worked well for two cooks, professional grade appliances, oversized island with seating on two sides, eat-in area, sitting area and furniture look cabinets with both stained and painted finishes. We enlarged an existing window by creating a boxed bay at the relocated sink and designed a continuous quartzite counter which serves as planting ledge for herbs and flowers. Some of the appliances were integrated into the cabinetry with panels, while others were designed as impact pieces. Custom designed cabinets include a large mantel style chimney hood with vent insert, furniture grade hutch with leaded glass doors, contrasting stained island with seating on two sides, bar with wine refrigerator and deep drawers, and a galley style butler's pantry which provides secondary prep space and ample storage. Details such as shaped cabinet feet, upper glass front cabinets, pull-out trash drawer, spice columns and hidden drawers and storage make this newly designed kitchen space feel luxurious and function perfectly. Traditional materials and forms meld seamlessly with industrial accents and modern amenities. Mixed metals are used in a balanced and dynamic way with warm gold tone cabinet hardware, stainless steel and chrome all working in harmony. The Brief This Shoreham-by-Sea client sought a kitchen improvement to make the most of a sunny extension space. As part of the project new flooring was also required, which was to run from the front porch of the property to the rear bi-fold doors. A theme with a nod to this client’s seaside location was favoured, as well as a design that maximised storage space. An island was also a key desirable of this project brief. Design Elements A combination of Tyrolean Blue and Oak furniture have been utilised, creating the coastal theme that this client favoured. These finishes are from British supplier Mereway, and have been used in their handleless option. The layout groups most of the functional kitchen areas together, with the extension part of the kitchen equipped with plenty of storage and an area to store decorative items. Aron has incorporated an island space as this client required. It’s a thin island purposefully, ensuring there is plenty of space for the clients dining area. Special Inclusions As part of the project, this client sought to improve their appliance functionality. Incorporating Neff models for an integrated fridge-freezer, integrated washing machine, single oven and a combination microwave. A BORA X Pure is placed upon the island and combines an 83cm induction surface with a powerful built-in extraction system. The X Pure venting hob is equipped with two oversized cooking zones, which can fit several pots and pans, or can even be used with the BORA grill pan. Additionally, a 30cm wine cabinet has been built into furniture at the extension area of the kitchen. This is a new Neff model that can cool up to twenty-one standard wine bottles. Above the sink area a Quooker 100°C boiling water tap can also be spotted. This is their famous Flex model, which is equipped with a pull-out nozzle, and is shown in the stainless-steel finish. Project Highlight The extension area of the project is a fantastic highlight. It provides plenty of storage as the client required, but also doubles as an area to store decorative items. In the extension area designer Aron has made great use of lighting options, integrating spotlights into each storage cubbyhole, as well as beneath wall units in this area and throughout the kitchen. The End Result This project achieves all the elements of the brief, incorporating a coastal theme, plenty of storage space, an island area, and a new array of high-tech appliances. Thanks to our complete installation option this client also undertook a complete flooring improvement, as well as a full plastering of all downstairs ceilings. On the interior, the Great Room comprised of the Living Room, Kitchen and Dining Room features the space defining massive 18-foot long, triangular-shaped clerestory window pressed to the underside of the ranch’s main gable roofline. This window beautifully lights the Kitchen island below while framing a cluster of diverse mature trees lining a horse riding trail to the North 15 feet off the floor. The cabinetry of the Kitchen and Living Room are custom high-gloss white lacquer finished with Rosewood cabinet accents strategically placed including the 19-foot long island with seating, preparation sink, dishwasher and storage. The Kitchen island and aligned-on-axis Dining Room table are celebrated by unique pendants offering contemporary embellishment to the minimal space.

For this dry fit project in Biddenham, Bedfordshire, our customer wanted to have a kitchen island that could incorporate a show stopping seating area and they were not dissapointed. We created a curved seating area on site, upholstered by upholstery by Tilly, with detachable. The customer chose our modern Aconbury style kitchen painted in a matt finish of silver grey on the island area and mid grey on the rest of the kitchens. They chose oak effect laminate for the kitchen runs, to bring warmth into the space and added a section of glazed wall cabinets with cabinet lighting to offer some mood lighting in the evenings. This was part of a larger extension, providing an open plan kitchen, diner and lounge with large bifold doors onto an amazing decking area.

This open kitchen serves two spaces, the dining room to the south and, by means of the beverage bar, the living room to the east. A generous pantry behind the stove wall also contains a dumbwaiter receiving parcels from the garage below and delivering stakes to the rooftop barbecue above.
