Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom. The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space. In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. A narrow galley kitchen with glass extension at the rear. The glass extension is created from slim aluminium sliding doors with a structural glass roof above. The glass extension provides lots of natural light into the terrace home which has no side windows. A further frameless glass rooflight further into the kitchen extension adds more light.

The client specified a thin but durable gun metal grey concrete surface for their new contemporary style kitchen. We opted for a 20mm thick matching countertop and island complete with waterfall end panels, upstands and a backsplash for the hob. The clients used an undermounted stainless steel sink with a bowl and a half and a chrome tap. We used our own eco-friendly high strength mix which was polished and sealed with a high-grade, food-safe sealer that lasts forever with little to no maintenance.

This project was really special for us. Our client Irene contacted us through a friend of hers. She wanted her kitchen to have an open concept with white colors and modern cabinets that are easy to clean and have a European style, same as where they are from. We came up with this design where she can walk around both sides of island so it is easier for her to his husband who is on a wheelchair. With the open concept she now has full vision of the living room where the husband is in case of any attention. Our experience was beautiful and we loved working for Irene. We also did a few more projects for her which we will upload in another time.
