Aptos Addition and Major Remodel. Our goal on this project was to provide the owners with the larger kitchen and additional bedrooms they needed for their growing family of five. The existing house was small, but they had a good sized lot in the Cliff Drive neighborhood along the ocean bluffs in Rio Del Mar which we were able to utilize.. Our team designed an extension of the existing house into the rear yard area, allowing for a new master suite and creating separate bedrooms for the children. The old kitchen was expanded and reconceived to create an inviting and open family room area with commercial appliances to support the client’s passion for great Italian cooking. Her decorating concept combining Modern Farmhouse themes with contemporary fixtures and finishes resulted in the beautiful, light, and comfortable home you see in these photographs.

While renovating their home located on a horse farm in Bedford, NY, it wasn’t surprising this husband and wife (who also is an equestrian) wanted their house to have a “barn feel”. To start, sourced reclaimed wood was used on the walls, floors and ceiling beams. This traditional kitchen, designed by Paulette Gambacorta, features Bilotta Collection cabinetry in a flush flat panel custom green paint with a glaze on maple. An added detail of a “crossbuck” end on the peninsula was custom made from reclaimed wood and inspired by the look of barn doors. Reclaimed wood shelves on iron brackets replaced upper cabinets for easy access. The marble countertops have a hand cut edge detail to resemble the look of when the stone was first quarried. An antique carpenter’s work bench was restored by the builder, for use as an island and extra work station. An apron front sink and a wains panel backsplash completed the barn look and feel. Farm house sink, Wooden cabinets and hardwood flooring. Mixing Contemporary design with rustic finishes, this galley kitchen gives off a modern feel while still maintaining a Western décor.

Situated at the top of the Eugene O'Neill National Historic Park in Danville, this mid-century modern hilltop home had great architectural features, but needed a kitchen update that spoke to the design style of the rest of the house. We would have to say this project was one of our most challenging when it came to blending the mid-century style of the house with a more eclectic and modern look that the clients were drawn to. But who doesn't love a good challenge? We removed the builder-grade cabinetry put in by a previous owner and took down a wall to open up the kitchen to the rest of the great room. The kitchen features a custom designed hood as well as custom cabinetry with an intricate beaded details that sets it apart from all of our other cabinetry designs. The pop of blue paired with the dark walnut creates an eye catching contrast. Ridgecrest also designed and fabricated solid steel wall cabinetry to store countertop appliances and display dishes and glasses. The copper accents on the range and faucets bring the design full circle and finish this gorgeous one-of-a-kind-kitchen off nicely.

Durasupreme silverton panel door in cherry smoke stain finish, low gloss sheen used for the island, wet bar, and coffee area. Perimeter grey tone painted cabinets in a custom color match per client’s request was specified. Shadow storm granite and cambria whitney quartz were used in combination to set off the cabinet colors. The existing floors were refinished during the project in a neutral tone. The ceiling was detailed in a classic tongue and groove board in a white paint finish as well as the wainscot wall panels and window trim. Expert installation is always a must for projects that entail stack crowned molding as elaborate as this installation. When working in historical homes, or homes of age that have leveling issues, stacked crown molding can hide the fact the ceilings may not be parallel to the floor.
