Julie and her team are pretty amazing - a special shout out to Dave B! Brownhouse worked with me on a whole-house remodel in Mountain View. They presented design options, lined up engineering support, managed and advised on contractor bids, steered us on key materials and finishes decisions and saved us a ton of time while making sure we ended up with a beautiful finished home that maximized our living space. I chose Julie because she impressed me with the range of styles and influences she could represent, the open discussion and frank feedback she gave me in our consultation and because she understands how homes in my area are evolving to meet current design trends and lifestyle needs. Brownhouse is flexible in how they engage - they will do as much or as little as you need. For instance, I asked for support picking tiles, but was prepared to go check stores on my own for other things. The team is very organized and efficient. I left every meeting feeling productive and that Brownhouse had made our project better. At every stage she and her team were timely (or better) with their deliverables and Julie really helped when I was in a pinch with our six foot square quartz slab. She worked the phones, found a replacement and was willing to drop everything to fix a construction screw up. Julie and her team worked hard to do a great job that I get to live with every day. Julie and Dave have helped us to take our vision to reality! Julie is able to translate the client’s tastes and priorities into beautiful, functional designs. She really thinks about how you are going to live in the house - and listens to you to understand your lifestyle and wish list - and somehow blends the functionality with the limitations of the space into the perfect solution. The plans that are produced are amazingly detailed and precise - we had zero if minimal questions from the city. She doesn’t just repeat a certain style for every client either – I’ve seen many of her other finished projects and they all reflect the personality of the homeowners – to make it their ‘home’. I think this is her specialty – she helps you put together a style and feel that reflects you and your family. Julie and Dave are both super easy to work with, experts in their field, on your team, and we can’t imagine getting through this without them!

Julie was fantastic to work with. My husband and I hired her to remodel 4 bathrooms and a kitchen, which turned out beautifully. She was always prompt and had in-depth knowledge of a huge variety of finishes and fixtures, plus a great design sense. The plans we provided to the contractors were clear and detailed, which really helped make the whole process as smooth as possible.
