This open layout kitchen is steps from the main living space and offers direct access to the dining room. Dramatic pendants add sparkle to the white marble kitchen.

This beautiful home is located in West Vancouver BC. This family came to SGDI in the very early stages of design. They had architectural plans for their home, but needed a full interior package to turn constructions drawings into a beautiful liveable home. Boasting fantastic views of the water, this home has a chef’s kitchen equipped with a Wolf/Sub-Zero appliance package and a massive island with comfortable seating for 5. No detail was overlooked in this home. The master ensuite is a huge retreat with marble throughout, steam shower, and raised soaker tub overlooking the water with an adjacent 2 way fireplace to the mater bedroom. Frame-less glass was used as much as possible throughout the home to ensure views were not hindered. The basement boasts a large custom temperature controlled 150sft wine room. For this project the client visited Bilotta’s Mamaroneck showroom and met with designer, Fabrice Garson. They wanted to gut and renovate their entire first floor to be as majestic as the outside of the house. They wanted a grand front entrance and a better flow from the kitchen to the family room. Fabrice suggested enlarging the doorway leading into the family room and adding a coffered ceiling throughout so everything flowed nicely from one room to the next. The cabinetry is Bilotta’s private line, the Bilotta Collection, inset with a step door in Dove White paint. The perimeter tops and backsplash are Carrera marble and the island is Jet Mist granite in a leather finish. Fabrice designed a custom banquette nook that comfortably seats the five family members and also houses two wine coolers. The island also seats five which was a request of the client, to be able to sit together at either spot. Fabrice collaborated with interior designer, Michele Green of Michele Green Design – Michele is also the co-owner of The Open House, a boutique store on Purchase Street in Rye. Michele specified all the stone work as well as the furniture and lighting. The table at the banquette is from Restoration Hardware and all stools and chairs are from CB2. The lighting above the island and banquette are from Michele’s store, The Open House. The grey vinyl for the banquette cushion is from Kravet. This informal kitchen dining area sits 6 and is composed of wood and rattan Klismos chairs, paired with a rough zinc top table. Polished nickel was used as the prominent metal for all light fixtures in the kitchen area. Walls were wallpapered with a soft pattern of lilac and white color, and the wallpaper was carried through to the adjacent den.

This 1920s colonial had “great bones” but the small, dark galley kitchen needed an overhaul. Studio Dearborn designed a fresh, inviting space with white and navy inset cabinetry crafted from solid maple. The navy blue island, albeit small, packs a ton of storage. The island is color matched to Benjamin Moore Hale Navy. White cabinetry in Benjamin Moore’s White Opulence, with white cararra marble countertops and white thassos mosaic backsplash keep the kitchen feeling light and airy.
