A glamorous yet warm kitchen we designed for long-time clients. They requested natural wood, clean design, stainless steel and black accents, , and a very functional working space. We designed interior architecture, layout, all cabinets, lighting, materials, and furniture to implement a very personal vision.

The remodel took traffic flow and appliance placement into consideration. The refrigerator was relocated to an area closer to the sink and out of the flow of traffic. Recessed lighting and under-cabinet lighting now flood the kitchen with warm light. The closet pantry and a half wall between the family room and kitchen were removed and a peninsular with seating area was added to provide a large work surface, storage on both sides and shelving with baskets to store homework, craft items and books. Opening this area up provided a welcoming spot for friends and family to gather when entertaining. The microwave was placed at a height that was safe and convenient for the whole family. Cabinets taken to the ceiling, large drawers, pantry roll-outs and a corner lazy susan have helped make this kitchen a pleasure to gather as a family.

In this 1930’s home, the kitchen had been previously remodeled in the 90’s. The goal was to make the kitchen more functional, add storage and bring back the original character of the home. This was accomplished by removing the adjoining wall between the kitchen and dining room and adding a peninsula with a breakfast bar where the wall once existed. A redesign of the original breakfast nook created a space for the refrigerator, pantry, utility closet and coffee bar which camouflages the radiator. An exterior door was added so the homeowner could gain access to their back patio. The homeowner also desired a better solution for their coats, so a small mudroom nook was created in their hallway. The products installed were Waypoint 630F Cherry Spice Cabinets, Sangda Falls Quartz with Double Roundover Edge on the Countertop, Crystal Shores Random Linear Glass Tile - Sapphire Lagoon Backsplash, and Hendrik Pendant Lights.

The transition corridor into the kitchen from the dining room was enlarged by taking a limited amount of space from the closets behind allowing for full depth cabinets and a fully integrated Sub-Zero refrigerator. This has become the sine storage area and a wonderful place to serve your guest drinks.

This transitional kitchen design in Lake Forest is packed with professional quality features interwoven with personal touches that bring out the personality of the homeowner. Earthy tones feature throughout this kitchen design from the ceiling beam to the raised panel kitchen cabinets to the multi-toned glass mosaic tile backsplash. This gives the open plan kitchen a warm appeal that will make it the center of life in this home. A luxury vinyl tile floor pulls together the space with an easy to maintain material with the look of hardwood flooring. Upper glass front kitchen cabinets add light and depth to the room and offer space to display glassware and dishes. The cabinetry is offset by an engineered quartz countertop and cabinet hardware that includes unique fish-shaped drawer pulls. This adds an eclectic edge to the kitchen design and brings out the personality of the homeowner, who is a fisherman. The kitchen remodel also brought in professional quality appliances, creating an ideal space for an avid home chef to create culinary masterpieces. The Thor professional oven and range combined with a Vent-a-Hood range hood and a pot filler faucet offer the perfect space for day-to-day cooking or creating special meals for family and friends. A large Kohler Stages stainless steel Chef’s undermount sink in the island pairs with a Grohe pull down sprayer faucet, offering ample room for everything from preparing food to cleaning large pots. The island also features angled power strips that fit neatly under the edge of the countertop. A Samsung refrigerator, LG built-in microwave, and Bosch dishwasher complete the food storage and cooking area of this kitchen design. Ample lighting brightens up the space, including recessed lights and pendants over the island. Undercabinet lighting highlights the stunning backsplash and offers additional task lighting in the cooking area. This is a kitchen design that will be the center of life for years to come!

Designer Jodi Tramontin, CMKBD decided to create a "Contemporary Craftsman" inspired kitchen which would flow with the rest of the home's architecture, design and materials. In order to create the perfect Contemporary Craftsman-inspired kitchen, she selected Dura Supreme's popular Lynden door style. The clean, simple lines on the doors rails and stiles along with the beautiful bevel detailing are the perfect complement to the Contemporary Craftsman-inspired kitchen that she wanted to create. After the door style was decided on, it was time to create the color palette. When creating a color palette for a particular space, start by determining what items that will be staying in the room that you’ll need to coordinate with. For example, for Jodi’s new kitchen she needed to work with the existing paint, millwork (casings, trim, interior doors), and hardwood floor colors. “One of the most common questions I get as a designer is "Do my cabinets have to match the rest of the woodwork within the home?" My answer to that question is "No - absolutely not". I love mixing different wood tones within any given space to create a unique and comfortable look.” – Jodi Tramontin, CMKBD After looking at many different options for the cabinet finishes, Jodi decided on Dura Supreme's “Hazelnut stain” on Cherry for the perimeter cabinetry and Dura Supreme’s “Latte” paint on Maple/Paintable for the island. Both of these finishes coordinate beautifully with the existing paint, millwork, and hardwood. Jodi also opted to go with a Low Sheen level on the stained finishes. Dura Supreme's standard sheen level on our stains is a semi-gloss finish while the low sheen is considered a satin finish. The low sheen option is just as strong and durable as our standard sheen. This 1960s split-level has a new spacious Kitchen boasting a generous curved stone-clad island and plenty of custom cabinetry. The Kitchen opens to a large eat-in Dining Room, with a walk-around stone double-sided fireplace between Dining and the new Family room. Designed and constructed by Woodways, this Funky Contemporary kitchen adds warmth to this retro styled home. Frameless cabinets with flat panel slab doors create a sleek and crisp look within the space. The accent island adds contrast to the natural colors within the cabinets and backsplash and becomes a focal point for the space. An added sink in the island allows for easy preparation and cleaning of food in this work area.

This design boasts it's own private bar area which features a windsor grey quartz worktop and light grey cabinets, providing a practical use of the alcove by creating a seating area, and influenced by copper lighting and accessories, while the cabinetry hides a preparation area hidden by pocket doors. A tall bank of units boxed in by stud walls to create a unique built in look. The kitchen houses Neff slide and hide eye level ovens, a wine cooler, ceiling extraction and an induction hob.
