This new build in Battle Ground is the true definition of "modern farmhouse". Yes it's actually a modern house on a farm! The kitchen opens up to the outdoor entertaining area and has a nice open layout. The coffee bar on the side gets lots of use from all of the family members and keeps people out of the cooking area if they need to grab a cup of coffee or tea. Appliances are Miele and Fisher & Paykel. The bar-top is black Fenix.

For this project we were hired to design the residential interiors and common spaces of this new development in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This project consists of two small sister buildings located on the same lot; both buildings together have 25,000 s.f of residential space which is divided into 13 large condos. The apartment interiors were given a loft-like feel with an industrial edge by keeping exposed concrete ceilings, wide plank oak flooring, and large open living/kitchen spaces. All hardware, plumbing fixtures and cabinetry are black adding a dramatic accent to the otherwise mostly white spaces; the spaces still feel light and airy due to their ceiling heights and large expansive windows. All of the apartments have some outdoor space, large terraces on the second floor units, balconies on the middle floors and roof decks at the penthouse level. In the lobby we accentuated the overall industrial theme of the building by keeping raw concrete floors; tiling the walls in a concrete-like large vertical tile, cladding the mailroom in Shou Sugi Ban, Japanese charred wood, and using a large blackened steel chandelier to accent the space.

Wir waren sehr erfreut, für ein schönes Berliner Apartment einen Küchenraum zu inszenieren, der das Zusammenspiel von modernster Technik und hochwertiger Handwerkskunst vereint. Das Herzstück der MS Küche bildet die Arbeitsplatte aus zeitlos schlichtem Beton. Die Regalbretter aus Eichenfurnier werden optisch durch LED Downlights in Szene gesetzt. Nahtlos integrieren sich Handtuchhalter in die jeweiligen Enden des Küchenkorpus. Auf der gegenüberliegenden Raumseite setzen schwarze Linoleumfronten auf schwarz durchgefärbtem Valchromat und getönten Glasschiebetüren einen farblichen Kontrapunkt. Für die Fliesenspiegel haben wir cremefarbene Mutina-Fliesen gewählt.

This is stunning Dura Supreme Cabinetry home was carefully designed by designer Aaron Mauk and his team at Mauk Cabinets by Design in Tipp City, Ohio and was featured in the Dayton Homearama Touring Edition. You’ll find Dura Supreme Cabinetry throughout the home including the bathrooms, the kitchen, a laundry room, and an entertainment room/wet bar area. Each room was designed to be beautiful and unique, yet coordinate fabulously with each other. The kitchen is in the heart of this stunning new home and has an open concept that flows with the family room. A one-of-a-kind kitchen island was designed with a built-in banquet seating (breakfast nook seating) and breakfast bar to create a space to dine and entertain while also providing a large work surface and kitchen sink space. Herringbone timber flooring has been used in the space, bringing a traditional element to the home, which works beautiful combined with the more contemporary handleless kitchen in white. Open shelving in the large kitchen island displays a light timber interior, adding to the layers of organic finishes in the space. Having a large island keeps the kitchen open and bright, flowing nicely from this work area into the dining space and then outside. The alcove storage in the kitchen wall adds a decorative as well as a practical touch, with the black of the wall sconces either side tying in with the patio doors. Photographs by Helen Rayner
