This home in Encinitas was in need of a refresh to bring the Ocean into this family near the beach. The kitchen had a complete remodel with new cabinets, glass, sinks, faucets, custom blue color to match our clients favorite colors of the sea, and so much more. We custom made the design on the cabinets and wrapped the island and gave it a pop of color. The dining room had a custom large buffet with teak tile laced into the current hardwood floor. Every room was remodeled and the clients even have custom GR Studio furniture, (the Dorian Swivel Chair and the Warren 3 Piece Sofa). These pieces were brand new introduced in 2019 and this home on the beach was the first to have them. It was a pleasure designing this home with this family from custom window treatments, furniture, flooring, gym, kids play room, and even the outside where we introduced our new custom GR Studio outdoor coverings. Tschida Construction alongside Pro Design Custom Cabinetry helped bring an unfinished basement to life. The clients love the design aesthetic of California Coastal and wanted to integrate it into their basement design. We worked closely with them and created some really beautiful elements like the concrete fireplace with custom stained rifted white oak floating shelves, hidden bookcase door that leads to a secret game room, and faux rifted white oak beams. The bar area was another feature area to have some stunning, yet subtle features like a waterfall peninsula detail and artisan tiled backsplash. The light floors and walls brighten the space and also add to the coastal feel.

This is a circa 1904 Denver Square in Congress Park. We remodeled the kitchen, powder room and the entire basement. In the photos, look for the vintage dining room sideboard that we were able to save and move into the kitchen. We added french doors to an exterior patio in the dining room where it used to sit.

This beautiful basement has gray walls with medium sized white trim. The flooring is nylon carpet in a speckled white coloring. The windows have a white frame with a medium sized, white, wooden window sill. The wet bar has white recessed panels with black metallic handles. In between the two cabinets is a stainless steel drink cooler. The countertop is a white, quartz fitted with an undermounted sink equipped with a stainless steel faucet. Above the wet bar are two white, wooden cabinets with glass recessed panels and black metallic handles. Connecting the two upper cabinets are two wooden, floating shelves with a dark brown stain. The wet bar backsplash is a white and gray ceramic tile laid in a mosaic style that runs up the wall between the cabinets.

Using the home’s Victorian architecture and existing mill-work as inspiration we remodeled an antique home to its vintage roots. First focus was to restore the kitchen, but an addition seemed to be in order as the homeowners wanted a cheery breakfast room. The Client dreamt of a built-in buffet to house their many collections and a wet bar for casual entertaining. Using Pavilion Raised inset doorstyle cabinetry, we provided a hutch with plenty of storage, mullioned glass doors for displaying antique glassware and period details such as chamfers, wainscot panels and valances. To the right we accommodated a wet bar complete with two under-counter refrigerator units, a vessel sink, and reclaimed wood shelves. The rustic hand painted dining table with its colorful mix of chairs, the owner’s collection of colorful accessories and whimsical light fixtures, plus a bay window seat complete the room. The mullioned glass door display cabinets have a specialty cottage red beadboard interior to tie in with the red furniture accents. The backsplash features a framed panel with Wood-Mode’s scalloped inserts at the buffet (sized to compliment the cabinetry above) and tin tiles at the bar. The hutch’s light valance features a curved corner detail and edge bead integrated right into the cabinets’ bottom rail. Also note the decorative integrated panels on the under-counter refrigerator drawers. Also, the client wanted to have a small TV somewhere, so we placed it in the center of the hutch, behind doors. The inset hinges allow the doors to swing fully open when the TV is on; the rest of the time no one would know it was there.
