This modern farmhouse kitchen features a beautiful combination of Navy Blue painted and gray stained Hickory cabinets that’s sure to be an eye-catcher. An oversize island in walnut/sap wood holds its own in this large space. Imperial Danby marble is the countertop and backsplash. The stainless Sub Zero Pro fridge brings an exciting industrial note.

The homeowners wanted to open up their living and kitchen area to create a more open plan. We relocated doors and tore open a wall to make that happen. New cabinetry and floors where installed and the ceiling and fireplace where painted. This home now functions the way it should for this young family!

This custom urban infill cedar cottage is thoughtfully designed to allow the owner to take advantage of a prime location, while enjoying beautiful landscaping and minimal maintenance. The home is 1,051 sq ft, with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. The kitchen has custom cabinetry painted with Sherwin Williams Rosemary 6187.

Who wouldn’t want to sit in front of this fireplace? It was a honed black slate hearth, white tin surround and a reclaimed, old growth pine mantle. The wall behind it is covered in beadboard made from reclaimed timber pine. After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel. In this farmhouse kitchen, white and blue cabinets steal the show. White cabinets along the walls bring a clean and bright atmosphere, while the central island pops with a soft blue. Keeping with the original kitchen configuration, a fresh and unique take introduces color, a mix of materials, and a bit of whimsey with the overall farmhouse/industrial design. The original Brazilian cherry wood floors were restored. Custom clear alder cabinets were left natural for the lowers and painted a soft deep blue for the uppers, including both flat and recessed panel doors. The island has a darker burgundy stain bringing out the variations in the flooring with a white quartz countertop. The island also features locally handmade galvanized copper drip panels for a one-of-a-kind design element. Rounded out with blue accents in the perimeter granite countertops and tile backsplash, high end appliances, and an expansive pantry.
