I cannot say enough great things about working with Eric! We had such a positive experience that we have since referred him to others in need of an architect. He really listened to what we wanted and provided several different options for us to consider before we honed in on the final design. We couldn't be happier with the end result! Eric maximized the space we were working with and designed the perfect home for our family. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable and creative in his designs, often coming up with ideas we hadn't even considered, he was so helpful throughout the entire permitting process as well as during our search for a contractor, providing referrals as well as questions to ask while we did our due diligence. We absolutely loved working with Eric and would most definitely work with him again on any future projects!

We have enjoyed our partnership with Eric from the day he first walked on our property all the way through completion. From the beginning he has listened to us about our ideas all while paying close attention to our financial limitations. Not only is he an amazing architect, he is also a developer giving him detailed insight into the cost of building. We had very little experience with construction or building and he walked us through many processes that weren’t necessarily part of his job, and did it in a way that was respectful and didn’t make us feel as uneducated about the construction world as we were. He is an extremely kind person who is very easy to talk to, relatable, and most importantly has his clients best interest at heart in every conversation. One conversation with him and you'll see. He has a brilliant mind that is built for architecture, and can make your ideas come to life. We appreciated his ability to be thorough, professional, and courteous. Our complete home remodel has been stressful, but Eric has been a consistent support as we progressed through the project. Our experience with Eric was fantastic! He took our 1940s awkward cottage and turned it into an open and functional space with an additional 900sq. ft. He was clever about maximizing space, given our constraints. He designed a beautiful and functional plan, while listening to our particular needs as a young family with little kids. We definitely appreciated his thoughtfulness regarding staying on budget. His background in structural engineering gives him a practical edge over other architects that we certainly appreciated. Eric is extremely professional, fun to work with, and responsive to emails and calls. As first time remodelers, he even "held our hands" and walked us through the contractor and designer interviews and selections, as well as the permitting process.

His knowledge of pre-construction requirements and all phases of construction is preeminent. His response to questions or need for information during construction is always prompt and clear. Our family conducted a year-long renovation and substantial addition of our early 1900 farmhouse-style home. Eric's careful evaluation of the site, the methodical placement of the addition, the interior layout and balance, and the overall exterior architecture - were all done exceptionally well. Its not often you find someone with such well-rounded talents. We offer Eric our highest compliments on his skills as a design professional, his ability to be engineer of record, his knowledge of the construction and materials trades, and very importantly - his mannerisms and trusted relationship with the Town to shepherd the property approvals to a successful conclusion - in one public meeting! We held our budget. We finished materially on time. and we enjoyed ourselves along the way. A talented, trustworthy partner on a long, complicated project. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

Major remodel or rebuilding your home? Eric is the guy who will put it all together. My wife and I interviewed at least 6 other architects before hiring Eric. Plain and simple, he is the complete package of design and creativity from a structural engineering point of view. In addition, he is with you all through the process of planning and building. By the way, he knows the buttons to push with regards to permits. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had a fantastic experience working with Eric Layton. He came our way as a referral from three neighbors who highly recommended his services. Eric designed a thorough and detailed renovation of our home. He is very experienced with project costs having gone through it himself so his recommendations were realistic and married with our budget. He is a great listener, approachable and easy to work with - and also really understands the permitting process within various counties in the Bay Area. I would not hesitate to hire him again for our next project.

Eric came up with a brilliant idea to efficiently remodel our home. He seamlessly drafted the plans and got them approved by the City of Mill Valley. His continued availability and cooperation with our general contractor, interior designer and us during the project is his best attribute. His contributions to our project have always exceeded our expectations.

I continue to be impressed by Eric's breadth of knowledge during our project (complete tear down and rebuild of our residence). We are benefiting from his years of experience and feel very grateful that he is at the helm of this monumental task. Eric's attention to detail is another bonus for us. コメント：what wood/stain did you use for front accent and front doorThis is natural red cedar that has been whitewashed with semi-transparent white stain / paint and then sealed with a clear coat.
