The most used room in the home- an open concept kitchen, family room and area for casual dining flooded with light. She is originally from California, so an abundance of natural light as well as the relationship between indoor and outdoor space were very important to her. She also considered the kitchen the most important room in the house. There was a desire for large, open rooms and the kitchen needed to have lots of counter space and stool seating. With all of this considered we designed a large open plan kitchen-family room-breakfast table space that is anchored by the large center island. The breakfast room has floor to ceiling windows on the South and East wall, and there is a large, bright window over the kitchen sink. The Family room opens up directly to the back patio and yard, as well as a short flight of steps to the garage roof deck, where there is a vegetable garden and fruit trees. Her family also visits for 2-4 weeks at a time so the spaces needed to comfortably accommodate not only the owners large family (two adults and 4 children), but extended family as well. Much consideration was given to views that surround the home. The home sits on a reservoir and has breathtaking views from almost every room that the designers wanted to honor.

This is stunning Dura Supreme Cabinetry home was carefully designed by designer Aaron Mauk and his team at Mauk Cabinets by Design in Tipp City, Ohio and was featured in the Dayton Homearama Touring Edition. You’ll find Dura Supreme Cabinetry throughout the home including the bathrooms, the kitchen, a laundry room, and an entertainment room/wet bar area. Each room was designed to be beautiful and unique, yet coordinate fabulously with each other. The kitchen is in the heart of this stunning new home and has an open concept that flows with the family room. A one-of-a-kind kitchen island was designed with a built-in banquet seating (breakfast nook seating) and breakfast bar to create a space to dine and entertain while also providing a large work surface and kitchen sink space. Coordinating built-ins and mantle frame the fireplace and create a seamless look with the white kitchen cabinetry. A combination of glass and mirrored mullion doors are used throughout the space to create a spacious, airy feel. The mirrored mullions also worked as a way to accent and conceal the large paneled refrigerator. The vaulted ceilings with darkly stained trusses and unique circular ceiling molding applications set this design apart as a true one-of-a-kind home. By creating a division between creamy paneled walls below 9' and pale blue walls above 9', human scale is created while still enjoying the spacious open area above. All the volume with south facing windows creates a beautiful play of light throughout the day.

Client hired Morse Remodeling to design and construct this newly purchased home with large lot so that they could move their family with young children in. It was a full gut, addition and entire renovation of this 1960's ranch style home. The house is situated in a neighborhood which has seen many whole house upgrades and renovations. The original plan consisted of a living room, family room, and galley kitchen. These were all renovated and combined into one large open great room. A master suite addition was added to the back of the home behind the garage. A full service laundry room was added near the garage with a large walk in pantry near the kitchen.
