容積規制の厳しい敷地面積26坪での駐車スペースと中庭を内包した4人ご家族のための住宅の計画です。 50％の建ぺい率より建築可能な面積は13坪。 この制限の中から立体的な建築可能ボリュームを逆日影計算を行い算出した他、道路斜線天空率や壁面後退緩和、車庫の容積不算入緩和等を活用し獲得可能な最大容積を確保しました。 最大限の外皮を設定した上で、建築面積制限に収まるよう垂直に外部空間（中庭）を挿入。 その外部空間を軸として内部空間を配置し、内部空間においては水平垂直に空間相互の繋がりを設け、伸びやかな空間を実現しました。 リビングから段差なく続く中庭、上下をつなぐ吹抜、中庭のシンボルツリーには鮮やかな黄色い花を咲かせるイペを植えました。 シンボルツリーはリビング・ダイニングや寝室・キッチン・浴室等、生活の様々な場所から見え隠れし、四季を感じることで生活に潤いを与えます。 外部の駐車スペースにおいては壁面後退敷地を有効に活用するため4ｍ×3ｍの跳ね出しスラブとし無柱空間を実現しています。 これは駐車スペース上部の壁面全体を固めて高さ2ｍの梁として計画することで　 意匠が構造の「かたち」も担う合理的な計画によって、特殊な工法を用いること無く、耐震等級３を取得しています。 写真：三木　夕渚／ZEROKOBO DESIGN

Home makeover on the Hill. An adorable home on the Hill was calling for an updated kitchen and bathroom. Working with the homeowner we redesigned the new spaces to offer functional space for both storage and entertaining. When renovating the existing addition on the back of the home, we noticed the current addition was falling off. We jumped right in and redesigned and delivered a safe new addition to become home to the new bathroom, extending the mudroom for more spacious space and was even able to install a stackable washer drawer cabinet for first floor access. The hardwood flooring was extended into the space so it looks as though it had always been there.

This portable custom home office add-on was inspired by the Oasis model with its 6' round windows (yes, there are two of them!). The Round windows are pushed out creating a space to span bar slab to sit at with a ledge for your feet and tile detailing. The other End is left open so you can lounge in the round window and use it as a reading nook. The Office had 4 desk spaces, a flatscreen tv and a built-in couch with storage underneath and at it's sides. The end tables are part of the love-seat and serve as bookshelves and are sturdy enough to sit on. There is accent lighting and a 2x10" ledge that leads around the entire room- it is strong enough to be used as a library storing hundreds of books. With south facing rear, one of the key aspects of the design was to separate the new living / kitchen space from the original house with a courtyard - to allow northern light to the main living spaces. The courtyard also provides cross ventilation and a great connection with the garden. This is a huge change from the original south facing kitchen and meals, which was not only very small, but quite dark and gloomy. Another key design element was to increase the connection with the garden. Despite the beautiful backyard and leafy suburb, the original house was completely cut off from the garden. Now you can see the backyard the moment you step in the front door, and the courtyard breaks the journey as you move through the central corridor of the home to the new kitchen and living area. The entire interior of the home is light and bright. The rear elevation is contemporary, and provides a definite contrast to the original house, but doesn't feel out of place. There is a connection in the architecture between the old and new - for example, in the scale, in the materials, in the pitch of the roof.

外壁に焼杉を張りました。関東では磨いていない焼杉は珍しいですが、私は好きでよく使います。見た目のモダンでスッキリしたデザイン性以外にも使用する理由は色々あります。まずは安いこと、燃えにくいこと、維持管理が簡単なこと。触ると手が黒くなりますのでご注意を。

赤身の多い杉材を使い無塗装とした外壁。半年程度でクライアントの希望したグレー色になりました。

ライティングによって、木部が一層映える夜の外観。玄関ポーチ部分の外壁はレッドシダーの鎧張りとしたことで影が落ち昼にくらべ立体感を増しています。２階の軒下天井部分は杉の羽目板張りとしたことで、バルコニー部分の奥行き感が強調できました。色温度を低めに設定した照明器具を採用したことで、シャープな形状ながら、ぬくもりのある外観となっています。
