Our client had work, evening and athletic/casual shoes that couldn't fit in her closets. We introduced a tall enclosed cabinet in the foyer area to resolve this problem. Since the foyer area is small, we selected glass door fronts and cabinetry in a white finish so it would be visually weightless against the white walls. This highly functional addition houses 37 pairs of shoes and the placement reduces the possibility of future clutter. Even better, she can showcase her lovely shoe collection. The entry from the garage used to be a laundry room. We moved the laundry room downstairs to create a mud room with 3 cubbies for each child's shoes, back packs and coats.

This first floor remodel and addition made use of an underutilized front room to create a larger dining room open to the kitchen. A small rear addition was built to provide a new entry and mudroom as well as a relocated powder room. AMA Contracting, Tom Iapicco Cabinets, In House photography.

Mudroom Cabinets were custom designed by Jessica McAllister of Kountry Kraft for a transitional style entryway in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. The cabinets are crafted in Penn Line style out of Red Oak wood and finished in Gray Wolf 25° stain color. Across the top and bottom of the cabinets are storage units for hats, gloves and shoes. Antique pewter hooks from Top Knobs provide the perfect place to hang coats and bags. This mudroom cabinet system also includes a bench for sitting while putting on your shoes. Mudroom cabinets help keep clutter the kitchen and living areas clean because they create a dedicated space for the items that are typically taken off and put on when entering or exiting the house.

This gray and transitional kitchen remodel bridges the gap between contemporary style and traditional style. The dark gray cabinetry, light gray walls, and white subway tile backsplash make for a beautiful, neutral canvas for the bold teal blue and yellow décor accented throughout the design. Designer Gwen Adair of Cabinet Supreme by Adair did a fabulous job at using grays to create a neutral backdrop to bring out the bright, vibrant colors that the homeowners love so much. This Milwaukee, WI kitchen is the perfect example of Dura Supreme's recent launch of gray paint finishes, it has been interesting to see these new cabinetry colors suddenly flowing across our manufacturing floor, destined for homes around the country. When the family comes in from the garage they enter into this great entry space. This space has it all! Equipped with storage for coats, hats, bags, shoes, etc. as well as a desk for family bills and drop-zone, and access directly to the laundry room and the kitchen, this space is really a main hub when entering the home. Double barn doors hide the laundry room from view while still allowing for complete access. The dark hooks on the mud-bench play off the dark barn door hardware and provide a beautiful contrast against the blue painted bench and breadboard backing. A dark stained desk, which coordinates beautifully with the barn doors, helps complete the space.

The back of this 1920s brick and siding Cape Cod gets a compact addition to create a new Family room, open Kitchen, Covered Entry, and Master Bedroom Suite above. European-styling of the interior was a consideration throughout the design process, as well as with the materials and finishes.
