This power couple and their two young children adore beach life and spending time with family and friends. As repeat clients, they tasked us with an extensive remodel of their home’s top floor and a partial remodel of the lower level. From concept to installation, we incorporated their tastes and their home’s strong architectural style into a marriage of East Coast and West Coast style. On the upper level, we designed a new layout with a spacious kitchen, dining room, and butler's pantry. Custom-designed transom windows add the characteristic Cape Cod vibe while white oak, quartzite waterfall countertops, and modern furnishings bring in relaxed, California freshness. Last but not least, bespoke transitional lighting becomes the gem of this captivating home.

The recent home renovation entailed the replacement of dated dark green carpeting with white oak flooring, resulting in a significant aesthetic enhancement. Additionally, the staircase underwent a comprehensive upgrade, with both treads and spindles reflecting a refined aesthetic.

In a small bungalow, every square inch of potential storage is cleverly put to use. A custom door-sized bookcase ingeniously conceals the coat closet where essentials of everyday life are organized.

The stunning two-story foyer features custom millwork and moulding with raised panels, and mahogany stair rail and front door. 8ft. Therma-Tru Smooth-Star fiberglass doors painted Polite White (SW6056). Doors feature flush-glazed energy-efficient Low-E glass and simulated divided lites (SDLs). Decade handleset also by Therma-Tru. Smooth-Star doors are ready-to-paint and feature crisp, clean contours.

This NoHo apartment, in a landmarked circa 1870 building designed by Stephen Decatur Hatch and converted to lofts in 1987, had been interestingly renovated by a rock musician before being purchased by a young hedge fund manager and his gallery director girlfriend. Naturally, the couple brought to the project their collection of painting, photography and sculpture, mostly by young emerging artists. Axis Mundi accommodated these pieces within a neutral palette accented with occasional flashes of bright color that referenced the various artworks. Major furniture pieces – a sectional in the library, a 12-foot-long dining table–along with a rich blend of textures such as leather, linen, fur and warm woods, helped bring the sprawling dimensions of the loft down to human scale.
