Removed old Brick and Vinyl Siding to install Insulation, Wrap, James Hardie Siding (Cedarmill) in Iron Gray and Hardie Trim in Arctic White, Installed Simpson Entry Door, Garage Doors, ClimateGuard Ultraview Vinyl Windows, Gutters and GAF Timberline HD Shingles in Charcoal. Also, Soffit & Fascia with Decorative Corner Brackets on Front Elevation. Installed new Canopy, Stairs, Rails and Columns and new Back Deck with Cedar.

The kitchen sink is uniquely positioned to overlook the home’s former atrium and is bathed in natural light from a modern cupola above. The original floorplan featured an enclosed glass atrium that was filled with plants where the current stairwell is located. The former atrium featured a large tree growing through it and reaching to the sky above. At some point in the home’s history, the atrium was opened up and the glass and tree were removed to make way for the stairs to the floor below. The basement floor below is adjacent to the cave under the home. You can climb into the cave through a door in the home’s mechanical room. I can safely say that I have never designed another home that had an atrium and a cave. Did I mention that this home is very special?

Eichler in Marinwood - At the larger scale of the property existed a desire to soften and deepen the engagement between the house and the street frontage. As such, the landscaping palette consists of textures chosen for subtlety and granularity. Spaces are layered by way of planting, diaphanous fencing and lighting. The interior engages the front of the house by the insertion of a floor to ceiling glazing at the dining room. Jog-in path from street to house maintains a sense of privacy and sequential unveiling of interior/private spaces. Eastview Before & After Exterior Renovation Enhancing a home’s exterior curb appeal doesn’t need to be a daunting task. With some simple design refinements and creative use of materials we transformed this tired 1950’s style colonial with second floor overhang into a classic east coast inspired gem. Design enhancements include the following: • Replaced damaged vinyl siding with new LP SmartSide, lap siding and trim • Added additional layers of trim board to give windows and trim additional dimension • Applied a multi-layered banding treatment to the base of the second-floor overhang to create better balance and separation between the two levels of the house • Extended the lower-level window boxes for visual interest and mass • Refined the entry porch by replacing the round columns with square appropriately scaled columns and trim detailing, removed the arched ceiling and increased the ceiling height to create a more expansive feel • Painted the exterior brick façade in the same exterior white to connect architectural components. A soft blue-green was used to accent the front entry and shutters • Carriage style doors replaced bland windowless aluminum doors • Larger scale lantern style lighting was used throughout the exterior
