Located in one of the Bay Area's finest neighborhoods and perched in the sky, this stately home is bathed in sunlight and offers vistas of magnificent palm trees. The grand foyer welcomes guests, or casually enter off the laundry/mud room. New contemporary touches balance well with charming original details. The 2.5 bathrooms have all been refreshed. The updated kitchen - with its large picture window to the backyard - is refined and chic. And with a built-in home office area, the kitchen is also functional. Fresh paint and furnishings throughout the home complete the updates.

Nous avons réaménagé cet appartement parisien pour un couple et ses trois enfants qui y habitaient déjà depuis quelques années. Le but était de créer une chambre supplémentaire pour leur fils ainé : l’ancienne cuisine accueille désormais la nouvelle chambre tandis que la nouvelle cuisine a été créée dans l’entrée. Pour délimiter ce nouvel espace, nous avons monté une cloison avec une verrière en partie haute et des rangements en partie basse. La cuisine s’ouvre désormais sur la salle à manger : ses tons clairs s’accordent parfaitement avec la grande pièce de vie. On y trouve également un bureau sur mesure, idéal pour le télétravail. Dans la chambre parentale, l’espace a été optimisé au maximum : on adore le grand dressing sur mesure qui prend place autour du cadre de porte ! Résultat : un appartement harmonieux et optimisé pour toute la famille. La couleur blanche et le bois prédominent pour apporter à la fois de la lumière et de la chaleur.

Our client decided to move back into her family home to take care of her aging father. A remodel and size-appropriate addition transformed this home to allow both generations to live safely and comfortably. L'entrée est décloisonnée mais conserve sa fonction, elle est matérialisée par un faux plafond peint dans un bleu profond et un claustra de bois. Le placard attenant est peint dans la même teinte afin de créer une cohérence dans la lecture des espaces. Un tabouret et un miroir complète cet espace pour le rendre fonctionnel. Lorsque l'on rentre chez soi, on peut se déchausser tranquillement, se recoiffer et aller déposer ses effets dans le placard, le tout en profitant d'une belle lumière naturelle.

This Riverdale semi-detached whole home renovation features some of the most frequently requested upgrades from Carter Fox clients: open-concept living, more light, a new kitchen and a more effective solution for the entry area. To deliver this wish list, we removed most of the interior walls on the main floor, upgraded the kitchen, and added a large sliding glass door across the back wall. We also built a new wall separating the entrance and living room, and built in a custom bench seat and storage area. Upstairs, we expanded one room to create a dedicated laundry room and created a larger 2nd floor bathroom. In the master bedroom we installed a wall of closets. Finally we updated all electrical and plumbing, painted and installed new flooring throughout the house.

Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom. The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space. In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The large mint cabinets add a lighter touch to the space. --- Project designed by the Atomic Ranch featured modern designers at Breathe Design Studio. I took out the original marble foyer walkway and replaced it and the other flooring with Matterhorn Birch floors making the rooms flow into each other and giving the space a more expansive feel. I took off the original metal door and replaced it with a reclaimed wooden door and painted it bright blue to give the home a much needed pop of color from the exterior.
