Every detail of this European villa-style home exudes a uniquely finished feel. Our design goals were to invoke a sense of travel while simultaneously cultivating a homely and inviting ambience. This project reflects our commitment to crafting spaces seamlessly blending luxury with functionality. The kitchen was transformed with subtle adjustments to evoke a Parisian café atmosphere. A new island was crafted, featuring exquisite quartzite countertops complemented by a marble mosaic backsplash. Upgrades in plumbing and lighting fixtures were installed, imparting a touch of elegance. Custom designed second row for the beach home, in a gated plantation on Hilton Head Island. The kitchen is open to the central great room and dining area, creating an open floor plan. We chose colors and materials which compliment the surrounding area with soft tones and hues. I worked closely with the client and we went through multiple design options, each honing in closer to the end result. We achieved a home with character, detail, and one that matches their lifestyle.

A complete gutting down to the studs was in order to bring this more than 100 year old home into the 21st century and trying to maintain the look of vintage meets modern. The wood floor includes old and new put together with a new finish on everything so it all looks seamless.

Shallow-depth wall cabinetry creates maximum use of minimal space, including elevated niche desk with chair (far left), pantry, shelving, and wine storage and beverage prep counter with integral lighting. The cabinetry created needed storage while preserving open circulation and space for the homeowner's desired kitchen island.

As with many residents of the Armitage neighborhood in South Minneapolis, the owners of this 1940-built Tudor home love where they live. So much so, they were willing to commit to a large, whole-house remodel in order to stay put. Castle worked diligently with these homeowners to help them realize their ultimate goals for their home. By redesigning the first-floor layout, Castle was able to create a much more open space. Walls previously separating the kitchen and dining room were removed and replaced with more countertop space in the form of a seated peninsula. The kitchen was also updated with new granite countertops, more backsplash tile to match the existing, and partial new cabinetry by The Woodshop of Avon to match existing. New hardwood flooring was installed in the kitchen to match the existing dining room. The size of the dining room was then almost doubled by removing an adjacent first-floor bedroom. A new sunroom was added in the back which opened the space even further. Dixie Caress carpet in the color “Wisteria” was chosen for the sunroom and throughout the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor was given a total makeover with a large dormer addition and a master bedroom suite above the new sunroom. Corbels decorate the exterior while giving support to the overhanging floor of the master bedroom. Now with three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, there’s room for everyone, and a wonderful great room on the main floor to go with it. The client’s coastal New England roots inspired this Shingle style design for a lakefront lot. With a background in interior design, her ideas strongly influenced the process, presenting both challenge and reward in executing her exact vision. Vintage coastal style grounds a thoroughly modern open floor plan, designed to house a busy family with three active children. A primary focus was the kitchen, and more importantly, the butler’s pantry tucked behind it. Flowing logically from the garage entry and mudroom, and with two access points from the main kitchen, it fulfills the utilitarian functions of storage and prep, leaving the main kitchen free to shine as an integral part of the open living area. In this remarkable architecturally designed home, the owners were craving a drastic change from the neutral decor they had been living with for 15 years.
