2nd Floor Addition to Family Home

Will was recommended to my wife and I by a family friend and we couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. From the moment Will walked in to our home to discuss the project he took in every drop of information of what we wanted to achieve and then took that info and ran with it to make every aspect better. He thought ahead and solved many challenges we didn't even realize that we would have and made the entire process seamless. He was also able to help us through the ARB review application process, and additionally thru the revisions requested by them quickly, efficiently, and with a smile. His contacts for engineering and other needed vendors were great and helped us keep the process moving forward all with the eyes on our intended schedule. He was especially helpful when it came to the dreaded budget conversations and helped us to find ways to get things in line with our budget while not losing sight of our overall goals. I give Will 5 stars, but only because I can't give him 10. Thank you Will for all of your help on making our home even better than it already was.

Will Did a great job with the design for my remodel and addition in Sea Pines on Hilton Head Island. He was patient with me and relieved much of my anxiety over such a large and personal project! He also has an awesome network of contacts he put me in touch with!

Will was absolutely fabulous to work with!!! He was a great listener and focused on delivering the vision that we had for our extensive renovation. His creativity was greatly appreciated along with the personalization / customization of our plans. Will worked closely with our contractor throughout the project. He literally took a house that was built in 1984 that had no flow at all and brought it to life to be an open concept home. From 3 bedrooms 3 1/2 baths to 4 bedrooms 4 baths, a designer kitchen that flows into the great room for family time and great for entertaining and also transformed the breakfast area into the primary bath. If we could give 10 stars we would!!!

It is always a bonus when you work with a person who listens and is interested in "you". Our working relationship was great. Working without plans, Will had to "rebuild" our home before remodeling. Architecturally his changes to our home enhanced the curb appeal on top of meeting the needs of our remodel. The local architectural commission who can be tough, found the new design of our townhome an enhancement to our existing exterior design. It based the review board in just one session. As we moved inside we worked online collaboratively resolving spaces and questions. Although confident in his decisions, he was not above listening to alternative ideas. That made the end result clearly a team effort. Thanks Will! We love our new "spaces" you have created in our home. Bonnie and Mike

We hired him again to transform two unsightly carports into a lovely Carriage House multi-purpose space. We recently hired him a third time to design a fabulous Closet Haven. Will did an unbelievable job designing our new home. A ton of hard work and some difficult issues that required thoughtfulness and tenacity. Will paired with our builder, Jake Gartner of Hammerhead Custom Builders, and designed a new beach home that meets everyone of our needs and then some. Detailed and patient, Will listened to our wish list, made great suggestions, and navigated us away from traps. Previously we designed our primary residence in Ohio built. And while the Ohio home turned out very nice, this home, with Will's hard work, beats it hands down. Furthermore, Will has plenty of experience to navigate the choppy seas that one can encounter with the local home associations. He got us through the process, and was very adept at adjusting where necessary. Our highest recommendation. Pair Will with your builder and enjoy the ride (and if you need a builder call Jake)

Guenther Designs & Consulting was recommended to us for a sunroom/addition, we were wanting to add to our existing home in Sea Pines. Will took all our wants and worked the design to fit our home perfectly. He saw our vision and maximized the windows, we were wanting and created a beautiful room. I used Will as my architect on a patio extension project I had in Hilton Head. While I have hired many contractors for building services over the years, I never have hired an architect and didn't know the bounds of reasonable requests for his attention or those that should be put to the building contractor or permitting agencies. Will always addressed anything I raised. He acted to advance our interests--such as referring contractors when our lead one dropped out. He listened to what we wanted to accomplish and endeavored to reflect those wishes in our plan, but yet was clear when he felt we were about to do something disadvantageous. I came to trust Will's judgement calls. The end result was that Will's plans were approved without changes by the two relevant permitting authorities. Most of all, I appreciated Will's style and professionalism. He timely returned calls and emails. He met the timing he gave me. I would hire Will again and recommend him for consideration by others.

We did have some back and forth, but we were always working toward making the end result better. The deck extension and pergola will really transform the pool area and the rear yard. You will have multiple spots from which to look out and enjoy the view out over the lagoon.

Will at Gunther Designs drew plans for a home I am building on Hilton Head Island. He did a great job with the plans. He was easy to work with on changes that wanted and was able to provide and work directly with the engineer for the final stamped approval. Everything on time and on budget.

I asked for a design of an enclosed portion of our existing deck. The design I received was a two level structure which blew my mind. Multiple stairways and a nice 3 step down from top to bottom deck. I decided to implement parts of the design with a local company.

In 2016 Will Guenther helped me renovate a 1988 townhouse overlooking the inland waterway. The design needed was to totally open the first floor as well as incorporate an elevator through 4 floors. On the water view side the porch design was enlarged and stars to the ground level added. The interior design is clean, modern and takes advantage of the view...exactly what I wanted.

I've engaged Will on two separate occasions to design beach houses for my family. In both cases we had an idea of what we wanted, but needed someone with Will's expertise to guide us through the process. Will provided a design that was functional, in keeping with current codes, and complete enough for our general contractor and his sub-contractors to fully understand our expectations. Glad we were able to get the ARB (architectural review board), to see things our way. All part of the review and approval process. Being the 95 degree summer temps are now fading, you can comfortably enjoy the screen porch. You will be using the fire pit some enough.

From the first walk through of our to be "dream home" I knew Will was the right choice. This was a first time experience for my Wife and I and Will was always patient, alway helpful and knew when to throw in seasoned suggestions. After many changes and redesigns we got our wish. Will was always responsive and and tended to our requests in a timely manner. If we ever venture into another renovation or remodel Will will be our go to guy.

I met Will over 10 years ago when he was the project Architect on a complicated multi million dollar oceanfront home my company was building. This is not an easy position to fill and he did an excellent job. We formed a good relationship and for more than a decade Will has done design and CAD drafting work for my company. I have found him to have superior design skills, takes direction very well, completes his work on time and has respect for budget constraints. Most recently we have been working together on the shop drawings for all of the interiors of an apartment in Manhattan, NY. This has been a difficult and demanding project and as usual Will has performed very well. More over, I have found him to have an exemplary work ethic and solid character. We have worked together many times on an hourly basis and I always felt that his compensation was fair, justified and reasonable.
