A boho kitchen with a "modern retro" vibe in the heart of Austin! We painted the lower cabinets in Benjamin Moore's BM 706 "Cedar Mountains", and the walls in BM OC-145 "Atrium White". The minimal open shelving keeps this space feeling open and fresh, and the wood beams and Scandinavian chairs bring in the right amount of warmth!

This chic couple from Manhattan requested for a fashion-forward focus for their new Boston condominium. Textiles by Christian Lacroix, Faberge eggs, and locally designed stilettos once owned by Lady Gaga are just a few of the inspirations they offered. Hidden in this near westside neighborhood of modest midcentury ranches is a multi-acre back yard that feels worlds away from the hustle of the city. These homeowners knew they had a gem, but their cramped and dim interior and lack of outdoor living space kept them from the full enjoyment of it. They said they wanted us to design them a deck and screen porch; we replied, "sure! but don't you want a better connection to that luscious outdoor space from the inside, too?" The whole back of the house was eventually transformed, inside and out. We opened up and united the former kitchen and dining, and took over an extra bedroom for a semi-open tv room that is tucked behind a built-in bar. Light now streams in through windows and doors and skylights that weren't there before. Simple, natural materials tie to the expansive yard and huge trees beyond the deck and also provide a quiet backdrop for the homeowners' colorful boho style and enviable collection of house plants. In designing the new layout for the kitchen, we decided to remove the pantry closet and expand into the former eat-in area. This gave us the opportunity to create a beautifully functional island with plenty of seating and prep space for multiple cooks in the kitchen. We were all still in love with the walnut flooring we installed during the first phase of this project and opted to lean into the classic tones and bring them into the cabinetry scheme. To balance all those gorgeous warm grains, we cooled the space down with a spunky hand painted tile that enlivens the space.

A bright green kitchen renovation in the heart of London. Using Granada Green, Dulux shade for the kitchen run paired with sugar pink walls. The open plan kitchen diner houses a central island with bar stools for a breakfast bar and social space. The checkerboard flooring sits next to reclaimed retrovious flooring with the perfect blend of old and new. The open larder dresser has wallpapered backing for a bespoke and unique kitchen.

These young hip professional clients love to travel and wanted a home where they could showcase the items that they've collected abroad. Their fun and vibrant personalities are expressed in every inch of the space, which was personalized down to the smallest details. Diana Wiesner of Lampert Lumber in Chetek, WI worked with her client and Dura Supreme to create this custom teal blue paint color for their new kitchen. They wanted a contemporary cottage styled kitchen with blue cabinets to contrast their love of blue, red, and yellow. The homeowners can now come home to a stunning teal (aqua) blue kitchen that grabs center stage in this contemporary home with cottage details. Bria Cabinetry by Dura Supreme with an affordable Personal Paint Match finish to "Calypso" SW 6950 in the Craftsman Beaded Panel door style. This kitchen was featured in HGTV Magazine summer of 2014 in the Kitchen Chronicles. Here's a quote from the designer's interview that was featured in the issue. "Every time you enter this kitchen, it's like walking into a Caribbean vacation. It's upbeat and tropical, and it can be paired with equally vivid reds and greens. I was worried the homeowners might get blue fatigue, and it's definitely a gutsy choice for a rural Wisconsin home.
