At home, even the walls heal. Especially when they are Pantone-styled. Recently, the Pantone Institute of colour selected the “classic blue” to be the colour of 2020, and a year ago we decided that the walls inside the Ridnyi House should be the same. The first floor consists of a large living room, dining room, kitchen, and professional barbecue area. The living room with a fireplace is spacious and soft in its colour scheme. The designer ceramic vases with ikebanas fill the space with senses and flowers. Two floors have merged in the dining room, creating plenty of room for white loose clouds by Serhii Makhno. large wooden bench and an Elephant armchair wait for dinner to be served. And dinner is being cooked in the kitchen — there are light oak slabs instead of the countertop. Painted trim and cabinets combined with warm, gray walls and pops of greenery create an updated, transitional style in this 90's townhome.

A built-in bench with steel capped ends merges into a kitchen with a steel backsplash. A double height stairwell beyond, is lined with the board-formed concrete wall.

This family loves classic mid century design. We listened, and brought balance. Throughout the design, we conversed about a solution to the existing fireplace. Over time, we realized there was no solution needed. It is perfect as it is. It is quirky and fun, just like the owners. It is a conversation piece. We added rich color and texture in an adjoining room to balance the strength of the stone hearth . Purples, blues and greens find their way throughout the home adding cheer and whimsy. Beautifully sourced artwork compliments from the high end to the hand made. Every room has a special touch to reflect the family’s love of art, color and comfort.

This design scheme blends femininity, sophistication, and the bling of Art Deco with earthy, natural accents. An amoeba-shaped rug breaks the linearity in the living room that’s furnished with a lady bug-red sleeper sofa with gold piping and another curvy sofa. These are juxtaposed with chairs that have a modern Danish flavor, and the side tables add an earthy touch. The dining area can be used as a work station as well and features an elliptical-shaped table with gold velvet upholstered chairs and bubble chandeliers. A velvet, aubergine headboard graces the bed in the master bedroom that’s painted in a subtle shade of silver. Abstract murals and vibrant photography complete the look. Our goal for this project was to transform this home from family-friendly to an empty nesters sanctuary. We opted for a sophisticated palette throughout the house, featuring blues, greys, taupes, and creams. The punches of colour and classic patterns created a warm environment without sacrificing sophistication. Home located in Thornhill, Vaughan. Light gray walls provide a neutral backdrop for this traditional dining room’s inventive use of color. Floral draperies in shades of navy, turquoise and robin’s egg blue are accented by a navy band and hang from gold metal rods with clear glass finials. The light grey ceiling is adorned with a hand-painted design in two-toned metallic gold. A corner cabinet has been given a fresh coat of white paint to match the trim, while the interior is painted aqua showcasing the blue and white porcelain and antiqued mirror accessories adorning the shelves. This elegant space is a study in blues, from the wool rug bearing a floral pattern in shades of light blue, baby blue and navy to the lacquered dining chairs, which have been upholstered in a modern tone-on-tone geometric velvet along with a navy chenille and accented with black nickel nails. The dining table is stained deep espresso and given a high gloss finish. Gold metallic accents on the table provide a touch of glam befitting the crown jewel of the room - a chandelier of clear glass orbs dangling from a gold frame.
