Wanting to update the original stone-clad, wood-burning fireplace in their Family Room, the client requested a sleek new design that would match her remodeled contemporary kitchen. After removing the stone, a new energy-efficient gas insert was installed, and above it, a flat panel television. We planned a thoughtful redesign of this beautiful home while retaining many of the existing features. We wanted this house to feel the immediacy of its environment. So we carried the exterior front entry style into the interiors, too, as a way to bring the beautiful outdoors in. In addition, we added patios to all the bedrooms to make them feel much bigger. Luckily for us, our temperate California climate makes it possible for the patios to be used consistently throughout the year. The original kitchen design did not have exposed beams, but we decided to replicate the motif of the 30" living room beams in the kitchen as well, making it one of our favorite details of the house. To make the kitchen more functional, we added a second island allowing us to separate kitchen tasks. The sink island works as a food prep area, and the bar island is for mail, crafts, and quick snacks. We designed the primary bedroom as a relaxation sanctuary – something we highly recommend to all parents. It features some of our favorite things: a cognac leather reading chair next to a fireplace, Scottish plaid fabrics, a vegetable dye rug, art from our favorite cities, and goofy portraits of the kids. --- Project designed by Courtney Thomas Design in La Cañada. The house is square with tons of angles, so I wanted to introduce some rounded elements to create contrast. The uniquely colored living room interior fits perfectly in this modern Beverly Hills home. The multi-colored Missoni fabrics set the energetic tone, while the selenite fireplace, solid colored walls, sofa, and chairs keep the looks fresh and balanced. Home located in Beverly Hills, California. Designed by Florida-based interior design firm Crespo Design Group, who also serves Malibu, Tampa, New York City, the Caribbean, and other areas throughout the United States.

Toronto’s Upside Development completed this interior contemporary remodeling project. Nestled in Oakville’s tree lined ravine, a mid-century home was discovered by new owners returning from Europe. A modern Renovation with a Scandinavian flare unique to the area was envisioned and achieved.

Una villa di nuova costruzione con pavimento in legno di noce nazionale e soffitti in legno con travi sbiancate a vista. L'illuminazione è stata studiata molto attentamente e tramite luci indirette illumina tutti gli spazi con luce emozionale. Arredi moderni in un contesto minimal ma caldo e coogliente grazie al grande uso del legno.
