We decided to approach UD after seeing some of their previous jobs, their design and finishes were aligned to what we were looking for: modern and clean with exquisite taste; after a couple of meetings with Rambod we decided to go with them and we did not regret it at all. We hired them to manage the whole process from design, permits and construction, from the beginning it was clear that they had a strong team of professionals and trades. Anne-Marie put a great architectural design, an outcome from her great listening skills and detailed oriented ability. We also decided to get Vanessa's consultation services for the interior materials and design, I highly recommend her, she is being so helpful, she does not only have a great taste and think out of the box but also show a lot of commitment and empathy during the process, and lastly the construction team and trades, can't ask for better team, Scott and Dave are not only very knowledgeable but also easy to work with and friendly, they seem to have great relationship with all the trades which I believe was a crucial piece of this amazing project. We will be always grateful to everyone who was part of our home renovation project and we'll never be shy on recommending UD

The actual building experience with Upside Development exceeded our expectations. From the demo to move in we were always consulted with each stage of our home's transformation. Upside alway listened to our concerns and had terrific solutions to any issues that came up. The trades they hired were also fantastic with David leading the way with his professionalism and ability to get the best out of them. If we ever move (never!) and need another renovation Upside would be our only call.

Over the past summer and into the Fall, I have photographed a number of projects from traditional homes to infill and contemporary projects (many of which are posted on their pages here on Houzz). The homeowners were present for most of the photoshoots and were most pleased with the quality, customer service and attention to detail that Rambod and his team gave them through the process. Each of the spaces I have photographed for Upside has been exquisite, showed a great deal of depth of creativity and problem solving and it was clear that Rambod and his team not only heard what their clients wanted to achieve, but they were able to execute on those needs. "Home Clues under the Home Consultation Services on Upside's website really peaked my curiosity. I was very excited to finally find a company that may find the answer to our ongoing problem with movement in the house. We live in a 3 storey home in the beaches area which has been newly renovated in 2012. With lots of activity going on in the house the floor would feel as though it is moving. The worst would be when my husband and I were in bed at night during any storms or high winds. One time we even thought there was an earthquake. Rambod from Upside made a trip to our house to provide his professional opinion on the issues we were experiencing. Prior to meeting with him we had tried calling around but no one was willing to take on the issue as to them it was a huge hassle. We were so bothered by this problem that we were prepared to pay and resolve it as soon as possible. The amazing thing about Rambod's service is not only did he finally figure out our problem but he was also the guy to fix it. After an assessment of the house he stated our laundry on the 2nd floor could be the cause for the movement. He asked me to run the machine and walked through the house again. He believed that the machines were structurally not sitting on proper supports and overtime have loosened the frame of the house. We of course were terrified of the safety issues, he reassured us the house is in very good condition and would not collapse but that we would need to either build support under the laundry room or relocate the laundry room. We decided on relocating the laundry room to the first floor as it fit more in line with our budget. I really appreciate the way in which Rambod calmed our worries, gave us options, charged a very reasonable rate for his assessment and work. Now we sleep in peace regardless of the weather. "We approached Upside for their Home Consultation Services as we were interested in the renovation planning process. A very big undertaking since our house was an old two storey with some charm but definitely needed an upgrade. Rambod came to our home, did a walk through, and got back to us with a few options at varying budgets. He is also an expert at Resale consideration and informed us what changes would make the house livable versus what makes the house sellable. Initially we were interested in minimal renovations but after careful consideration and the possibility of leaving the country in a few years we decided to go on with Option 2. Which was to include more Resale ready features to increase value of sale. Rambod guided us on the things that he would change vs. wouldn't change to keep a reasonable budget keeping RESALE in mind. When speaking to our agents they also confirmed that the changes to the house would bring us the highest dollar for the new house. The best part of this entire experience with Upside was they completed this project with a very tight timeline, under budget, with amazing materials and workmanship, while we were away on vacation for 4 weeks. We sneaked in a few planning meetings prior to departing and left the rest in Rambod's hands. His team delivered an exceptional home for us to live in. We are enjoying our beautiful new space EVERY single day."

I must say Upside exceeded my expectations with their Property Aquisition program. Rambod is knowledgeable of the Real Estate Industry he really impressed me. We first approached Rambod in 2012 about possibly re-modeling our home and his advice was that our neighbourhood and home may be difficult to sell with the new price after renovations. I mean who talks their clients out of spending money? We are so glad we listened to his advice and decided to hire him one year after when we were ready and committed for a change. He obviously demonstrated his ethical and moral standards one year prior. Rambod's Property Aquisition program was seamless. We called him up when we found the property of choice, he made himself available right away, he advised us ahead of the agents that there was another offer on the property which helped us approach the sale strategically and the golden feature here was since his is an Engineer, Home Inspector, Home Builder all in one he was able to give us a full picture for our lot and helped us bring to life ideas and potential for the lot. We made the sale successfully with the Upside Teams involvement and look forward to having Rambod Design the re-build for us. I absolutely without a doubt recommend Rambod for all his services as he is a pleasure to work with. Let me mention that when we are ready to build our house Upside will be our ONLY choice.

Each time we awake in the morning or approach our home from afar we continue to be impressed by the beauty of its architecture, design, and high quality materials. It seems as though every decision made regarding the creation of our home was made with William Morris’ thought in mind - “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.” The main spaces and nooks alike simply make sound functional and stylistic sense. The rooms flow seamlessly into one another and are united by the abundance of natural light entering in through the well-thought out windows, each introducing a different quality of light depending on location. The highlight of our day continues to be sunset when an array of colours projects moving art pieces onto our walls. As a young couple looking to make the transition from condo-living to purchasing a house with some property, my husband and I spent almost seven months looking for a new place to call home with no luck. After almost giving up the search, a new MLS listing caught our eye immediately and we drove right out to see this newly renovated home. We discovered that RAMBOD NASRIN was the creator behind this amazing transformation. One week later, the house was ours. Now having lived in our new home for over a year, neighbours have educated us on the before and after and apparently, our house post-renovation, is almost unrecognizable. Having come from condo and loft living, we were very interested in a house that presented a contemporary, modern design, but still had elements incorporating some original character. Rambod perfectly achieved our vision. The layout of our home, both inside and out, was designed with the best use of space in mind and the quality of all fixtures is most impressive. Clean lines within a comfortable setting. We have never regretted our decision and have loved living in what feels like a brand new house, despite being over 100 years of age.
