“We moved into our new build in 2013 with the typical white walls in every room. Four years later we decided to move things on. Understandably we were both a little nervous about the change, so our choice of interior designer was very important to us. We have always sought recommendations and fortunately Middlethorpe Interiors were suggested. After meeting Ann the nervousness was replaced by excitement of what she was creating for us. Don't get me wrong there were times along the way when we felt our "design comfort zone" was being challenged, but we are so glad we trusted in her creativity. It speaks volumes that we have over the last few weeks spent time just sat in the various rooms admiring the finished effect, which is also testament to the high quality of the tradesmen she works with. “Over lockdown I found myself growing very tired of the decor and furniture in my lounge. Myself and my three girls spend a lot of time in there particularly on an evening. With it being a Victorian terrace it already had beautiful original features in there but was looking very tired and lifeless. I decided to get in touch with Clare fir some inspiration and after our consultation felt very excited and inspired. She made me realise I didn’t need a huge amount to completely transform the space into the cosy room I longed for. I knew I wanted to go for dark walls but had no idea how to then furnish and accessorise. Clare did a full room design, helped and advised me with all of that and WOW the result is amazing, I absolutely love it. It’s made such a difference to my home. So much so I decided to invite Clare back to advise me on my bedroom. I had already painted the walls and bought a rug but needed help with styling. Clare sent me a shopping list of furniture and accessories to help. Again, she completely transformed the feel of the room, bringing it all together. “Sometimes you just don't know where to start, you know you want to change things up but just never get the time or in my case was seriously lacking some inspiration. Luckily for me the answer to my prayers came in the form of a brilliant business called Making Spaces. I contacted Karen, a lady who wastes no time. A 30 minute chat resulted in a Pinterest board the next day and tester colours on my walls. I didn't have to do a thing. I handed over a set of house keys as my confidence and trust in this lady was well rooted. Before I knew it the walls were painted, rug was being delivered, old furniture was sold on my behalf and new furniture sourced. Curtain poles were hung, artwork was frames and displayed beautifully. I now have a living room that makes me feel cosy and content to spend time in. It's a wonderful, beautiful space that is more me than I could ever have created on my own. This company is completely on the ball. You'd be doing yourself a disservice not to use them.”
