Remodeled kitchen - designed during my employment w/TRG Architects. Builder: JP Lindstrom Builders. Architecture/Interior Design: TRG Architects. First place winner of the Northern California NKBA Design Awards, medium kitchen category. Island incorporates 3-Form 'Birch' Varia Eco-Resin panels that are back lit w/ accessible LED lighting. Rice-paper resin panels in upper cabinets. Granite countertops & backsplash, Alder wood custom cabinets, & pendants by Tech lighting. Having designed the kitchen in their previous home (see Davis Rockwell Kitchen) - which they loved for many years – this couple came back to us with one main request, to design a similar but more upscale interpretation for their new home. As with the previous kitchen, the clients wanted an open space for entertaining and dedicated areas to showcase their large collection of art pieces. The existing builder grade kitchen didn’t fit their personal style or wish list. Knowing that the client’s intention was for this house to be their forever home, it was vital to give them a design that worked well now as well as for future needs. Knowing they love to entertain, we recommended a 5’ Galley Workstation for its flexibility to serve a variety of tasks from everyday wash station to party central with just a quick change of accessories. Located in the heart of the home, the kitchen is visible from all angles and needed to present a clean, flush look with the cabinets and appliances. Special features include LED strip lighting in the upper niche cabinets to highlight special art pieces. Beautiful walnut panels wrap the cabinetry and serve a dual purpose around the fold-up wall cabinets by the cooktop; they provide just enough depth for custom spice shelves. This beautiful kitchen was designed by Cathy from our Nashua showroom. This transitional Showplace kitchen is in a newly constructed ADA home, designed specifically around the homeowners’ needs and disability. The kitchen design features a versatile, flat-panel door style with a medium matte finish and quartz countertops. The dual height island and special sink/stove aprons allow for a wheelchair to slide underneath with ease, which gives all members of the family a chance to participate in meal prep and socialization within the kitchen. Another special ADA feature is a special wall oven that opens side to side instead of up and down, allowing easier access for anyone in a wheelchair. Other special features include decorative glass doors, plate organizer drawer, crown molding that fades into the wall, and a wood hood. An absolutely beautiful home with all the features needed to assist the homeowner with everyday life. Included in this kitchen was a desk area crafted from the same quarter sawn white oak to match the cabinetry. The desk area features open shelving above the quartz counter top surface perfect for storing mail and papers, and drawers below which are ideal for filing. - Allison Caves, CKD Caves Kitchens

A neutral grey industrial style floor tile helps set the tone of the overall aesthetic which is echoed in the perimeter quartz leathered countertops (in varying thicknesses). We anchored the design with dark stained maple cabinetry on both islands and sprinkled the same color around the window trim and wall cabinets that flank the custom metal range hood. Rift cut white oak cabinets stained with a touch of grey steal the show adding warmth and texture. This marble look quartz has the look and feel of marble without all the maintenance. It also works perfectly as a backsplash making the countertops look endless.

A unique and innovative design, combining the requirements of regular entertainers with busy family lives looking for style and drama in what was a compact space. The redesigned kitchen has space for sit-down meals, work zones for laptops on the large table, and encourages an open atmosphere allowing of lively conversation during food prep, meal times or when friends drop by. The new concept creates space by not only opening up the initial floor plan, but through the creative use of a two-tiered island benchtop, a stylish solution that further sets this kitchen apart. The upper work bench is crafted from Quantum Quartz Gris Fuma stone, utilizing man made stone’s practicality and durability, while the lower custom designed timber table showcases the beauty of Natural Calacatta Honed Marble.
