We were approached by a Karen, a renowned sculptor, and her husband Tim, a retired MD, to collaborate on a whole-home renovation and furnishings overhaul of their newly purchased and very dated “forever home” with sweeping mountain views in Tigard. Karen and I very quickly found that we shared a genuine love of color, and from day one, this project was artistic and thoughtful, playful, and spirited. We updated tired surfaces and reworked odd angles, designing functional yet beautiful spaces that will serve this family for years to come. Warm, inviting colors surround you in these rooms, and classic lines play with unique pattern and bold scale. Personal touches, including mini versions of Karen’s work, appear throughout, and pages from a vintage book of Audubon paintings that she’d treasured for “ages” absolutely shine displayed framed in the living room. Partnering with a proficient and dedicated general contractor (LHL Custom Homes & Remodeling) makes all the difference on a project like this. Our clients were patient and understanding, and despite the frustrating delays and extreme challenges of navigating the 2020/2021 pandemic, they couldn’t be happier with the results. Act 1 Flooring supplied and installed the floors and accent wall around the fireplace. The accent wall has white stacked stone which really brightens up the room. The floors are a dark, engineered hardwood that comes in wide planks. The wet bar right in the living room is great for hosting. We love this custom living room.

A suspended custom chandelier created from cast glass and metal brings intimacy to this vaulted family room. A large comfy sectional sofa frames the space and is positioned to enjoy the stunning views as the seasons change.

The FAMILY ROOM gathers the family and lots of Shades of Grey. A wood burning fireplace with a clever print of “ Smoke " above it makes certain there is always a flame in the hearth while the french doors breeze out to the Pool and Patio area. The white coffer ceiling has panels of contrasting grey which also blankets the back of the bookshelves. A grey sectional and grey plush carpet makes this Family Room cozy even if it is a grey day.

No surface was left untouched in this Lakeview Craftsman home. We've worked with these clients over the past few years on multiple phases of their home renovation. We fully renovated the first and second floor in 2016, the basement was gutted in 2017 and the exterior of the home received a much needed facelift in 2018, complete with siding, a new front porch, rooftop deck and landscaping to pull it all together.
