Artistically Tuscan Francesca called me, nearly 13 years ago, as she had seen one of our ads in the Orange County Living Magazine. In that particular ad, she fell in love with the mural work our artists had done for another home we designed in Huntington Beach, California. Although this was a newly built home in Portofira Estates neighborhood, in the city of Orange, both she and her husband knew they would eventually add to the existing square footage, making the family room and kitchen much bigger. We proceeded with designing the house as her time frame and budget proceeded until we completed the entire home. Then, about 5 years ago, Francesca and her husband decided to move forward with getting their expansion project underway. They moved the walls out in the family room and the kitchen area, creating more space. They also added a game room to the upstairs portion of their home. The results are spectacular! This family room has a large angular sofa with a shaped wood frame. Two oversized chairs and ottomans on either side of the sofa to create a circular conversation and almost theatre like setting. A warm, wonderful color palette of deep plums, caramels, rich reds, burgundy, calming greens and accents of black make the entire home come together perfectly. The entertainment center wraps the fireplace and nook shelving as it takes up the entire wall opposite the sofa. The window treatments consist of working balloon shades in a deep plum silk with valances in a rich gold silk featuring wrought iron rods running vertically through the fabric. The treatment frames the stunning panoramic view of all of Orange County.

The client wanted to incorporate some blue into their living room. We did just that with two brilliant Mohair sofas and pillows. Pewter nail head trim finishes the touches. The lighting fixture was added to bring drama to the space.

Отлично множат свет и расширяют пространство. Интересное решение - зеркало, встроенное в нишу в стене. Комната будет казаться больше из-за отражения. Обман зрения Видели крутые картинки из интернета, которые создают эффект движения? На одну стену можно наклеить обои с перспективой: дорога вдаль, веранда, улица. И вот уже комната не так и мала. Легкая мебель С дизайном квартиры покончено, теперь приступаем к обстановке. Хотите громоздкий обеденный стол? Не рекомендую. Чем легче мебель - тем лучше. Открытые полки вместо книжных шкафов - отличное решение. До потолка Кстати, о полках. Используйте пространство стен по максимуму - заказывайте книжные шкафы до самого потолка. Вешайте полки как можно выше. Встроенные шкафы В идеале с раздвижными дверями. А еще неплохо смотрятся варианты с ширмой или занавеской. Для маленькой гостиной лучше заказать мебель, чтобы не купить стандартный вариант, который не подойдет. Освободить плинтус Самая большая обманка - расставить мебель возле стен. Диваны, кресла и столы лучше отодвинуть. За счет этого пространство будет казаться больше.

This client wanted help renovating their new Georgian home into a beautiful haven that they would love for a very long time! They didn’t want to be hung up on current trends, they just wanted a home that created a wow factor that would never go out of style! After getting a good idea of the sort of classical style they were going for, the real problem was finding the right colour scheme for such an awesome space. Our brilliant designer Jelena suggested Farrow & Ball - Green Blue 84 for the walls that will create a natural contrast against the white painted Georgian features, making the most of this period property. Then she sourced some super comfy sofas that will last the family for years to come alongside some lush soft cushions that matched the main palette colours from the clients’ scheme.
