This classic traditional kitchen works perfect in this Tudor home. The previous kitchen was knotty pine and very country. Our client was looking for a modern kitchen that would fit with the traditional exterior of the home. The white perimeter cabinets we took to the ceiling and stacked for a clean line and maximum storage. The large island is perfect for prep work and serving a large buffet when entertaining. The paneled appliances keep the kitchen clean and blend into the adjoining cabinetry. A few special details we included are the pull-out shelves in the built-in pantry, for easy access to the items that usually get lost in the back, and a shallow top drawer under the cooktop, for utensils. This kitchen is perfect for our client.

In this Kitchen remodel we went on a more traditional style design: Heavy dark espresso cabinets with dark brass knobs/handles, plain beige quartz counter top with stone tile full backsplash and hand made art tile above the range. under cabinet lights to brighten up the space, ceiling can lights and a few warm pendant lights that keeps the place cozy look and feel among the hardwood floor. we also installed special dark art outlets and switches to accompany that feeling throughout the kitchen

A full kitchen renovation and remodel, the #AJMBForeverUpgrades project was designed for a foodie family that spends their quality time together around delicious meals. Our team got creative when configuring the best layout since the original footprint was dated to the home's original design. The project turned out wonderful and is upgrades our client's will love forever.

The mixture of polished nickel, stainless steel and brushed brass create a custom look in this traditional kitchen remodel in Myers Park. 4 feet was all that was added to this kitchen, however, relocating the powder room and opening it up to the new family room addition made all the difference in the world. Described as serene by many that visit the morning sun floods the kitchen in the morning and the evening sun coming in from the family room and full southern exposure over the sink make the lighting somewhat unnecessary. The white beaded inset cabinets with traditional hardware were selected to keep the space in alignment with the design intent of the original 1920's detailing of the home. The lights over the island were salvaged from a 1920 brokerage house in Newark, NJ. the shade over the farmhouse sink was salvaged from the original home and a new fixture was made to showcase it. Hand painted ceramic tile was selected for the backsplash.

Generous island for a kitchette size kitchen with sink allows user to face into the room. This custom island seats four and has cabinets on both sides! Also housing the dishwasher and drawer storage.

  Download our free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW   The homeowners came to us looking to update the kitchen in their historic 1897 home. The home had gone through an extensive renovation several years earlier that added a master bedroom suite and updates to the front façade. The kitchen however was not part of that update and a prior 1990’s update had left much to be desired. The client is an avid cook, and it was just not very functional for the family. The original kitchen was very choppy and included a large eat in area that took up more than its fair share of the space. On the wish list was a place where the family could comfortably congregate, that was easy and to cook in, that feels lived in and in check with the rest of the home’s décor. They also wanted a space that was not cluttered and dark – a happy, light and airy room. A small powder room off the space also needed some attention so we set out to include that in the remodel as well. See that arch in the neighboring dining room? The homeowner really wanted to make the opening to the dining room an arch to match, so we incorporated that into the design. Another unfortunate eyesore was the state of the ceiling and soffits. Turns out it was just a series of shortcuts from the prior renovation, and we were surprised and delighted that we were easily able to flatten out almost the entire ceiling with a couple of little reworks. Other changes we made were to add new windows that were appropriate to the new design, which included moving the sink window over slightly to give the work zone more breathing room. We also adjusted the height of the windows in what was previously the eat-in area that were too low for a countertop to work. We tried to keep an old island in the plan since it was a well-loved vintage find, but the tradeoff for the function of the new island was not worth it in the end. We hope the old found a new home, perhaps as a potting table.
