Our clients are drawn to the outdoors, so wanted to include wood finishes along with modern white touches like the granite countertops and ceramic backsplash.. This Eden Prairie main level remodel transformed how this family uses their space. By taking down the wall between the kichen and dining room, carving out space for a walk-in pantry, and adding a large island with seating; this new space thrives with today's lifetyle. Custom cabinetry optimizes storage space and elevates the warm aesethics. With additional natural lighting from a new patio door and overhead lighting, it's a cheerful place to do meal prep and entertain. The homeowners wanted the flexibiity to have seating on both sides of the idland on one end, so a pedestal post was added to allow for leg room when extra chairs were added.

Embracing an authentic Craftsman-styled kitchen was one of the primary objectives for these New Jersey clients. They envisioned bending traditional hand-craftsmanship and modern amenities into a chef inspired kitchen. The woodwork in adjacent rooms help to facilitate a vision for this space to create a free-flowing open concept for family and friends to enjoy. This kitchen takes inspiration from nature and its color palette is dominated by neutral and earth tones. Traditionally characterized with strong deep colors, the simplistic cherry cabinetry allows for straight, clean lines throughout the space. A green subway tile backsplash and granite countertops help to tie in additional earth tones and allow for the natural wood to be prominently displayed. The rugged character of the perimeter is seamlessly tied into the center island. Featuring chef inspired appliances, the island incorporates a cherry butchers block to provide additional prep space and seating for family and friends. The free-standing stainless-steel hood helps to transform this Craftsman-style kitchen into a 21st century treasure.

The second project for Edit 58's Lisa Mehydene, this time in London. The requirement was one long run and no wall cupboards, giving a completely open canvas above the worktops.

The home had gone through an extensive renovation several years earlier that added a master bedroom suite and updates to the front façade. The kitchen however was not part of that update and a prior 1990’s update had left much to be desired. The client is an avid cook, and it was just not very functional for the family. The original kitchen was very choppy and included a large eat in area that took up more than its fair share of the space. On the wish list was a place where the family could comfortably congregate, that was easy and to cook in, that feels lived in and in check with the rest of the home’s décor. They also wanted a space that was not cluttered and dark – a happy, light and airy room. A small powder room off the space also needed some attention so we set out to include that in the remodel as well. See that arch in the neighboring dining room? The homeowner really wanted to make the opening to the dining room an arch to match, so we incorporated that into the design. Another unfortunate eyesore was the state of the ceiling and soffits. Turns out it was just a series of shortcuts from the prior renovation, and we were surprised and delighted that we were easily able to flatten out almost the entire ceiling with a couple of little reworks. Other changes we made were to add new windows that were appropriate to the new design, which included moving the sink window over slightly to give the work zone more breathing room. We also adjusted the height of the windows in what was previously the eat-in area that were too low for a countertop to work. We tried to keep an old island in the plan since it was a well-loved vintage find, but the tradeoff for the function of the new island was not worth it in the end. We hope the old found a new home, perhaps as a potting table. This professional kitchen has Wolf appliances for the best cooking performance. The large peninsula can be a great spot for tasting food. There is a great amount of storage in this kitchen and floating shelves provide easy access to the plates and bowls. The large refrigerator will allow the client to never be out of their ingredients.

The open concept Great Room includes the Kitchen, Breakfast, Dining, and Living spaces. The dining room is visually and physically separated by built-in shelves and a coffered ceiling. Windows and french doors open from this space into the adjacent Sunroom. The wood cabinets and trim detail present throughout the rest of the home are highlighted here, brightened by the many windows, with views to the lush back yard. The large island features a pull-out marble prep table for baking, and the counter is home to the grocery pass-through to the Mudroom / Butler's Pantry.

Full remodel of a 40 year old kitchen. The goal was to have a beautiful, functional space for an avid cook in a style that would stand the test of time. The natural cherry cabinetry blends with the natural woodwork in the home. Honed quartz countertops are beautiful and durable. The marble mosaic backsplash is the crown jewel which pulls it all together.

The existing kitchen was completely remodeled to create a compact chef's kitchen. The client is a true chef, who teaches cooking classes, and we were able to get a professional grade kitchen in an 11x7 footprint, complete with an island! The South wall is the exposed brick original to the 1900's home. To compliment the brick, we chose a warm nutmeg stain in cherry cabinets. The retro pendants are oversized to add a lot of interest in this small space. The dining set adds rustic charm with a distressed and gray finish. Our inspiration for this kitchen was the stone fireplace in the adjacent room. We used cherry cabinets, dark black granite and stone with a leather look on the island.
