We expanded this 1974 home from 1,200 square feet to 1,600 square feet with a new front addition and large kitchen remodel! This home was in near-original condition, with dark wood doors & trim, carpet, small windows, a cramped entry, and a tiny kitchen and dining space. The homeowners came to our design-build team seeking to increase their kitchen and living space and update the home's style with durable new finishes. "We're hard on our home!", our clients reminded us during the design phase of the project. The highlight of this project is the entirely remodeled kitchen, which rests in the combined footprint of the original small kitchen and the dining room. The crisp blue and white cabinetry is balanced against the warmth of the wide plank hardwood flooring, custom-milled wood trim, and new wood ceiling beam. This family now has space to gather around the large island, designed to have a useful function on each side. The entertaining sides of the island host bar seating and a wine refrigerator and built-in bottle storage. The cooking and prep sides of the island include a bookshelf for cookbooks --perfectly within reach of the gas cooktop and double ovens-- and a microwave drawer across from the refrigerator; only a step away to reheat meals.

Multiple cream and white paint tones create a neutral background against the stunning Sea Pearl Quartzite countertops. Polished nickel hardware and plumbing fixtures add a little sparkle to the space. Artistic tile mosaic tile was used for the backsplash inset. Mixed paneled and stainless steel appliances complement the space.

The Plymouth was designed to fit into the existing architecture vernacular featuring round tapered columns and eyebrow window but with an updated flair in a modern farmhouse finish. This home was designed to fit large groups for entertaining while the size of the spaces can make for intimate family gatherings. The interior pallet is neutral with splashes of blue and green for a classic feel with a modern twist. Off of the foyer you can access the home office wrapped in a two tone grasscloth and a built in bookshelf wall finished in dark brown. Moving through to the main living space are the open concept kitchen, dining and living rooms where the classic pallet is carried through in neutral gray surfaces with splashes of blue as an accent. The plan was designed for a growing family with 4 bedrooms on the upper level, including the master. Greg Hadley The biggest change to the first floor is the new kitchen. The existing kitchen, pantry, and dining room were three cramped rooms. We combined these three rooms to create one large beautiful kitchen and a mudroom that is central to the family’s everyday life. In order to be able to remove the bearing wall between the dining room and kitchen, we installed a steel beam with columns, all of which are hidden behind walls and in the ceiling.

Bespoke, painted Shaker kitchen with cockbeaded frames, painted in French Grey (113) and the island in Mid Lead (114), both by Little Greene Paint Company. The polished nickel Armac Martin Cotswold Drawer Pull cup handles and the Cotswold Ball Knobs look great with the grey painted cabinets. The curved corners on the island help to soften it and the curved oak worktop at the seating end is perfect as a breakfast bar. The Quarella 'Blanco Paloma' worktops work nicely with the colour scheme, matching the white pendants whilst the oak floor adds warmth.

Our clients new kitchen remodel is making us yearn for the sunny skies and warm ocean breezes of summer. Located on the waterfront in Barrington, RI, a blue and white palette is so stunning. Featuring Candlelight Cabinetry Boulevard Full Overlay Door in white. The Beautiful Silestone by Cosentino Eternal Statuary installed by Discover Marble & Granite highlights the Ice Blue Porcelain Backsplash. A pantry with a reclaimed door adds to the charm. Top Knobs hardware and appliances by Samsung 837, KitchenAid and KUCHT complete this dream design.

In the kitchen, the old cherry cabinets and yellow wallpaper were replaced with fresh, creamy white cabinetry and serene blue-grey walls, complimented by new hardwood floors and gleaming quartzite counters. The built-in Jenn-Air refrigerator serves as the anchor to the back wall, accompanied by the built-in wall ovens and microwave drawer. A Jenn-Air induction cooktop is surrounded by spice pull-outs and pot and pan drawers, set off by the Settecento New Yorker tile backsplash. On the peninsula, a beautiful Waterstone faucet and Rohl sink make prep and clean up a breeze. A cozy window seat, accented by the Circa Lighting scones, was created between additional cabinetry housing a bar area and baking center, providing the perfect area to curl up after a good meal with family and friends.
