This transformed traditional bedroom is what our client has always dreamed of. Custom bedding and drapery captivated the overall scheme. The poster bed adds a refined interpretation of nineteenth century style with carved mahogany to match the owner's dresser. An over the top room for this idea house! The room began with the fabric for the duvet cover. The fabric's pattern was abstracted and interpreted for the ceiling detail. All hues of turquoise were used and pulled from the duvet fabric.

A master bedroom with an ocean inspired, upscale hotel atmosphere. The soft blues, creams and dark woods give the impression of luxury and calm. Soft sheers on a rustic iron rod hang over woven grass shades and gently filter light into the room. Rich painted wood panel molding helps to anchor the space. A reading area adorns the bay window and the antique tray table offers a worn nautical motif. Brass fixtures and the rough hewn dresser remind one of the sea. Artwork and accessories also lend a coastal feeling.

This home had a generous master suite prior to the renovation; however, it was located close to the rest of the bedrooms and baths on the floor. They desired their own separate oasis with more privacy and asked us to design and add a 2nd story addition over the existing 1st floor family room, that would include a master suite with a laundry/gift wrapping room. We added a 2nd story addition without adding to the existing footprint of the home. The addition is entered through a private hallway with a separate spacious laundry room, complete with custom storage cabinetry, sink area, and countertops for folding or wrapping gifts. The bedroom is brimming with details such as custom built-in storage cabinetry with fine trim mouldings, window seats, and a fireplace with fine trim details. The master bathroom was designed with comfort in mind. A custom double vanity and linen tower with mirrored front, quartz countertops and champagne bronze plumbing and lighting fixtures make this room elegant. Water jet cut Calcatta marble tile and glass tile make this walk-in shower with glass window panels a true work of art. And to complete this addition we added a large walk-in closet with separate his and her areas, including built-in dresser storage, a window seat, and a storage island. The finished renovation is their private spa-like place to escape the busyness of life in style and comfort. These delightful homeowners are already talking phase two of renovations with us and we look forward to a longstanding relationship with them.

Every period detail has been restored and custom details have been crafted to highlight the heritage beauty of the home. A custom staircase in tallow wood, tailor made cabinetry, restored windowed archways and decorative ceiling art, elaborate period skirting and wall panelling to white and brass lighting honours the beautiful original details in the home while giving a crisp finish that feels almost a little modern. Intrim supplied Intrim SK1172 skirting in 260mm high and Intrim SK1171 118mm architrave for the downstairs level, Intrim SK757 in 185mm high and 90mm architraves for upstairs and Intrim IN11 inlay mould inside the board and batten.
