This 1960's home needed a little love to bring it into the new century while retaining the traditional charm of the house and entertaining the maximalist taste of the homeowners. Mixing bold colors and fun patterns were not only welcome but a requirement, so this home got a fun makeover in almost every room! New cabinets are from KitchenCraft (MasterBrand) in their Lexington doors style, White Cap paint on Maple. Counters are quartz from Cambria - Ironsbridge color. A Blanco Performa sin in stainless steel sits on the island with Newport Brass Gavin faucet and plumbing fixtures in satin bronze. The bar sink is from Copper Sinks Direct in a hammered bronze finish. Kitchen backsplash is from Renaissance Tile: Cosmopolitan field tile in China White, 5-1/8" x 5-1/8" squares in a horizontal brick lay. Bar backsplash is from Marble Systems: Chelsea Brick in Boho Bronze, 2-5/8" x 8-3/8" also in a horizontal brick pattern. Flooring is a stained hardwood oak that is seen throughout a majority of the house. The main feature of the kitchen is the Dacor 48" Heritage Dual Fuel Range taking advantage of their Color Match program. We settled on Sherwin Williams #6746 - Julip. It sits below a custom hood manufactured by a local supplier. It is made from 6" wide Resawn White Oak planks with an oil finish. It covers a Vent-A-Hood liner insert hood. Other appliances include a Dacor Heritage 24" Microwave Drawer, 24" Dishwasher, Scotsman 15" Ice Maker, and Liebherr tall Wine Cooler and 24" Undercounter Refrigerator.

Customized kitchen with lots of modifications....Cabinets to ceiling, glass and lighting, custom hood and water filler, custom Island and desk area, and decorative design door fronts. New countertops, subway backsplash, lighting, fixtures, and hardware

We transformed this space with all new IKEA cabinets stainless steel appliances, Zuhne plumbing finishes, and IKEA door hardware. The backsplash tile is a hand crafted Richard & Sterling tile which complements the Pental Misterio quartz. Sometimes its not about the pizazz but rather the simplicity of only a few colors, letting the textures and details catch your eyes.

The client's attention to detail and commitment to achieving a cohesive look in her kitchen extended to the choice of appliances. She opted for white appliances that seamlessly matched the color of her pristine cabinets, creating a harmonious, monochromatic aesthetic. The white appliances blended flawlessly with the overall design, adding to the traditional and warm ambiance she desired. The remaining stainless steel appliances were strategically placed together in one designated area of the kitchen. This careful arrangement ensured that the stainless steel elements hardly stood out as eyesores but rather became a complementary part of the overall kitchen design.

When I came onto this project the entire back of the house was missing and tarped off. This client is also a creative and we did many different renderings before we settled onto this one. They wanted to create an area that was open and great for entertaining her large family. Plus, they have the most amazing backyard and wanted to let in as much light as possible. Then end result was stunning and the perfect place to hold the holidays.

I used copper elements throughout the kitchen and into the half-bath around the corner. The veining in the granite has elements of copper and we added a strip of copper tile in the backsplash.

This kitchen is open to the neighboring family room. The table and chairs were the Client's from her last house, with reupholstered seat cushions. The floral pattern is cut from the same fabric, but no two chairs are exactly alike. A crystal chandelier in a kitchen works well with simple, contemporary pendant fixtures. The window treatment is made from fabric embroidered with stripes. We turned the fabric and cut it to look like one custom embroidered valance - very little (expensive fabric) elevates the space and looks very high end!

The decision to keep the original cabinet boxes meant simply replacing the cabinet drawers and drawer fronts for a refreshing transformation. The porcelain tile floor has the unmistakable look of brick without the struggle to keep it clean. New appliances, stylish range hood, and a new cabinet box for the refrigerator. A custom island located in the original dining nook satisfies the client's number one request, providing a place to drink wine and make cookies.

This kitchen remodel vividly illustrates the transformative power of tile and range hood design. The tile's ability to add character, depth, and beauty to the space showcased how a well-chosen material can truly make a difference.
