Welcome to our latest kitchen renovation project, where classic French elegance meets contemporary design in the heart of Great Falls, VA. In this transformation, we aim to create a stunning kitchen space that exudes sophistication and charm, capturing the essence of timeless French style with a modern twist. Our design centers around a harmonious blend of light gray and off-white tones, setting a serene and inviting backdrop for this kitchen makeover. To infuse a sense of nature and add a striking focal point, we have carefully selected green cabinets. After a not-so-great experience with a previous contractor, this homeowner came to Kraft Custom Construction in search of a better outcome. Not only was she wanting a more functional kitchen to enjoy cooking in, she also sought out a team with a clear process and great communication. Two elements of the original floorplan shaped the design of the new kitchen: a protruding pantry that blocked the flow from the front door into the main living space, and two large columns in the middle of the living room. Using a refined French-Country design aesthetic, we completed structural modifications to reframe the pantry, and integrated a new custom buffet cabinet to tie in the old columns with new wood ceiling beams. Other design solutions include more usable countertop space, a recessed spice cabinet, numerous drawer organizers, and updated appliances and finishes all around. This bright new kitchen is both comfortable yet elegant, and the perfect place to cook for the family or entertain a group of guests.

My clients are big chefs! They have a gorgeous green house that they utilize in this french inspired kitchen. They were a joy to work with and chose high-end finishes and appliances! Embracing the vintage, and her love for Shabby Chic style, this coastal beach client wanted to retain her original stove, as well as her original kitchen cabinets. We also kept all her vintage china and old appliances. We removed the old tile counter and backsplash, and replaced them with a butcherblock countertop from IKEA, and beadboard backsplash. The farmhouse sink and bridge faucet and vintage style chandelier were also purchased for the new space. Since my client doesn't use the old stove very often, she opted for no hood above the stove. The breakfast nook is quite tiny yet still suitable for morning breakfasts for two.

Who says matte black is only for modern kitchens? This kitchen proves otherwise. perfectly matched with the white marble countertop co-existing with the white shaker style cabinetry.

We transformed this space with all new IKEA cabinets stainless steel appliances, Zuhne plumbing finishes, and IKEA door hardware. The backsplash tile is a hand crafted Richard & Sterling tile which complements the Pental Misterio quartz. Sometimes its not about the pizazz but rather the simplicity of only a few colors, letting the textures and details catch your eyes.

This kitchen is open to the neighboring family room. The table and chairs were the Client's from her last house, with reupholstered seat cushions. The floral pattern is cut from the same fabric, but no two chairs are exactly alike. A crystal chandelier in a kitchen works well with simple, contemporary pendant fixtures. The window treatment is made from fabric embroidered with stripes. We turned the fabric and cut it to look like one custom embroidered valance - very little (expensive fabric) elevates the space and looks very high end!

This kitchen was created by removing a wall that separated the family room from the kitchen. This allowed us to add a second island. The islands are topped with Viatera Karis quartz, which is carried up to serve as a back splash. Industrial spotlights are used as pendants over the prep area. Mirrored upper cabinets keep the space from feeling too industrial and add a European touch. A collection of vintage ironstone pitchers is displayed in the upper cabinets.
