Clean lined contemporary black and marble family kitchen designed to integrate perfectly into this Victorian room. Part of a larger renovation project by David Blaikie architects that included a small extension. For this rare build, we co-remodeled with the client, an architect who came to us looking for a kitchen-expert to match the new home design. They were creating a warm, tactile, Scandi-Modern aesthetic, so we sourced organic materials and contrasted them with dark, industrial components. Simple light grey countertops and white walls were paired with thick, clean drawers and shelves and flanked slick graphite grey cabinets. The island mirrored the countertops and drawers and was married with a large, slab-legged wooden table and darker wood chairs. Finally, a slim, long hanging light echoed the graphite grey cabinets and created a line of vision that pointed to the kitchen’s large windows that displayed a lush, green exterior. Together, the space felt at once contemporary and natural.

This kitchen combines sleek design and optimum functionality to create a stylish, practical space. The focal point is the black cabinetry, with a delicate gold detailed trim. Smart storage solutions are absolutely key. With carefully designed cabinets and drawers, our clients will find ample space to organise their kitchen essentials efficiently, keeping everything within easy reach. We have integrated a Neff double oven, with its sleek, modern design complementing the aesthetic of the kitchen. The gold detailing is carried throughout the kitchen. From the elegant tap to the stylish plugs and accessories, these golden accents elevate the design and create a cohesive look. To complete the culinary experience, we have included a Bora hob, known for its innovative design and exceptional functionality. The end panels of this island were a custom-designed feature, and a collaboration between our master cabinetmaker and designer. The base mouldings at the island mirror the rest of the kitchen and are installed to wrap into the toe-kick on the two workspace sides of the island. The countertop on this island was thickened to nearly 6cm to add emphasis to the center of the room. The cabinet lacquer color is Black Beauty by Benjamin Moore, with unlacquered brass hardware by Rejuvenation.
