10K Architecture10K designed this new construction home for a family of four who relocated to a serene, tranquil, and heavily wooded lot in Shorewood. Careful siting of the home preserves existing trees, is sympathetic to existing topography and drainage of the site, and maximizes views from gathering spaces and bedrooms to the lake. Simple forms with a bold black exterior finish contrast the light and airy interior spaces and finishes. Sublime moments and connections to nature are created through the use of floor to ceiling windows, long axial sight lines through the house, skylights, a breezeway between buildings, and a variety of spaces for work, play, and relaxation.

FRESH ArchitectsFull bungalow refurb with permitted development rear extension, pitched to match the falls of the existing roof. Using charred timber cladding with a fully glazed link. The design breaks the tradition of a flat roof infill extension instead opting to increase the L shape of the building to create an external courtyard for social occasions and entertaining.

Hoch Design Workshop LLCWe had the opportunity to develop a rare vacant lot in SE Portland creating a custom single family residence on the property with an ADU and a tiny home pad. The site is very narrow and has a 15' grade change making it even more unique. The design team used this to our advantage to frame views of the wooded neighborhood. Making you feel secluded while being in the city. We carved or pulled into the mass of the house to create exterior space connected to each primary space of the house (living room, kitchen, primary bedroom and secondary bedroom. We used locally sourced materials throughout the structure to give it a local vernacular aesthetic.
Creative Union Network Inc.The Dufferin Laneway Suite is a two bedroom secondary living suite built in the backyard of this Toronto property.
The Dufferin laneway house is a new form of housing in our city which celebrates minimalist living and encourages higher density. All the spaces in this dwelling have a function where nothing goes to waste. The design addresses challenges such as tight footprint and accessibility.

地域材であるカラマツ無垢材を構造材に、意匠材にはタモ無垢材を併用することで、カラマツの素朴さとタモ材の上品さを持った居心地の良い空間を目指しています。
また、この物件では、椅子づくりワークショップや、螺湾フキを使った蝦夷和紙づくりワークショップなどを開催し、職人さんとオーナーさんを結ぶことで、より建物に愛着をもってもらえるような体験も企画しました。店舗になるため、周囲への事前の周知や知名度の向上などは、よりよいファンづくりにも貢献します。施工には、木造建築を得意とする足寄町の木村建設さまをはじめ、製材は瀬上製材所、家具製作は札幌の家具デザインユニット６２１さん、壁材のフキ和紙製作は蝦夷和紙工房紙びよりさん、煉瓦は江別市の米澤煉瓦さんなど、北海道の本物志向の職人さんと顔の見える関係をつくることで建物の質を高めています。
今回の物件は飲食スペースを併設していますので、実際にご利用できます。
また、建築面積のサイズが２５坪前後と、住宅のサイズに近いものになっております。

LASC StudioThe Cloudy House is an extension to a house from the ‘30s. The roof of the existing house seems to stretch out over the extension, giving the extension a dynamic and contemporary expression, while clearly communicating its origin from the existing house.
