Sometimes a project starts with a statement piece. The inspiration and centrepiece for this apartment was a pendant light sourced from France. The Vertigo Light is reminiscent of a ladies’ racing day hat, so the drama and glamour of a day at the races was the inspiration for all other design decisions. I used colour to create drama, with rich, deep hues offset with more neutral greys to add layers of interest and occasional moments of wow. The floor – another bespoke element – combines functionality with visual appeal to meet the brief of having a sense of walking on clouds, while functionally disguising pet hair. Storage was an essential part in this renovation and clever solutions were identified for each room. Apartment living always brings some storage constraints, so achieving space saving solutions with efficient design is key to success. Rotating the kitchen achieved the open floor plan requested, and brought light and views into every room, opening the main living area to create a wonderful sense of space. A juxtaposition of lineal design and organic shapes has resulted in a dramatic inner city apartment with a sense of warmth and homeliness that resonated with the clients.

Another reason to blend the modern with the traditional? Danielle and DJ needed a kitchen that could welcome people of all ages. “I’m at home with the kids, and I have other moms and their kids over pretty often. So we entertain probably every other week. Like any other kitchen, people tend to congregate there. The space works really great for that!”

E’ la vera protagonista della stanza, una particolare configurazione che non deve essere vista soltanto come una moda, ma anche come una soluzione funzionale per lo spazio. Svincolare la cucina dal muro e porla al centro dell’ambiente significa viverla a 360 gradi e renderla il fulcro dell’ambiente. L’idea in più? Sicuramente gli elettrodomestici super-tecnologici e il forno a vapore. Ti aiuta come farebbe uno Chef, puoi interagire in maniera veloce e sorprendente, grazie alla termosonda, puoi scegliere la perfetta cottura della carne. Un po come faresti al ristorante, basta inserire nel display il livello di cottura desiderato: cruda, cotta o al sangue. Ah dimenticavo, hai notato la cappa o un lampadario? E se ti dicessi che è entrambe le cose? Ebbene sì, è il tocco chic voluto fortemente da Majcol per una perfetta qualità dell’aria.

Grazie all’impegno e all’ottimo gusto dei clienti in termini di materiali ed estetica, è stato possibile realizzare un interno accattivante con molti dettagli interessanti, come i pannelli a parete rivestiti con vernice metallica e il nuovo blocco cucina con retroparete in vetro e striscia di luce a soffitto. Dank des Engagements und des ausgesprochen guten Geschmackes der Kunden in Bezug auf Material und Ästhetik, konnte ein ansprechendes interior mit vielen interessanten Details realisiert werden, wie die mit Metallfarbe beschichteten Wandpaneele und die neue Küchenzeile mit Glasrückwand und darüber schwebendem Lichtband.

La nuova cucina ha cambiato completamente l'aspetto di tutto il living. La scelta di un'anta lucida, condizione imposta dalla cliente, ma da me approvata, è stata dettata dalla necessità di riflettere il più possibile la luce delle finestre dell'ambiente. Il nero delle gole, del top e degli elettrodomestici invece dallo spirito un pò dark della cliente. Per contrasto, il rivestimento in piastrelle della parete torna a dare luce a tutta la composizione, nonchè un tocco di ulteriore modernità
