New build dreams always require a clear design vision and this 3,650 sf home exemplifies that. Our clients desired a stylish, modern aesthetic with timeless elements to create balance throughout their home. With our clients intention in mind, we achieved an open concept floor plan complimented by an eye-catching open riser staircase. Custom designed features are showcased throughout, combined with glass and stone elements, subtle wood tones, and hand selected finishes. The entire home was designed with purpose and styled with carefully curated furnishings and decor that ties these complimenting elements together to achieve the end goal. At Avid Interior Design, our goal is to always take a highly conscious, detailed approach with our clients. With that focus for our Altadore project, we were able to create the desirable balance between timeless and modern, to make one more dream come true.

The challenge of modernizing this 1970’s kitchen was its high ceilings. A dark color pallet was selected to keep the focus at eye level. A wall was removed to create symmetry within the space. To balance the dark pallet, lights where added above and under the cabinets. Treve Johnson Photography

Beautiful Pantry custom-designed to fit a space with multiple wall depths and window. Solutions include counter top space for appliances, wire baskets for fruits and vegetables, rolling trays for ease of access and corner unit to maximize space. Colors used to match rest of the kitchen.

This dark, dreary kitchen was large, but not being used well. The family of 7 had outgrown the limited storage and experienced traffic bottlenecks when in the kitchen together. A bright, cheerful and more functional kitchen was desired, as well as a new pantry space. We gutted the kitchen and closed off the landing through the door to the garage to create a new pantry. A frosted glass pocket door eliminates door swing issues. In the pantry, a small access door opens to the garage so groceries can be loaded easily. Grey wood-look tile was laid everywhere. We replaced the small window and added a 6’x4’ window, instantly adding tons of natural light. A modern motorized sheer roller shade helps control early morning glare. Three free-floating shelves are to the right of the window for favorite décor and collectables. White, ceiling-height cabinets surround the room. The full-overlay doors keep the look seamless. Double dishwashers, double ovens and a double refrigerator are essentials for this busy, large family. An induction cooktop was chosen for energy efficiency, child safety, and reliability in cooking. An appliance garage and a mixer lift house the much-used small appliances. An ice maker and beverage center were added to the side wall cabinet bank. The microwave and TV are hidden but have easy access. The inspiration for the room was an exclusive glass mosaic tile. The large island is a glossy classic blue. White quartz countertops feature small flecks of silver. Plus, the stainless metal accent was even added to the toe kick! Upper cabinet, under-cabinet and pendant ambient lighting, all on dimmers, was added and every light (even ceiling lights) is LED for energy efficiency. White-on-white modern counter stools are easy to clean. Plus, throughout the room, strategically placed USB outlets give tidy charging options.

Jaime and Nathan have been chipping away at turning their home into their dream. We worked very closely with this couple and they have had a great input with the design and colors selection of their kitchen, vanities and walk in robe. Being a busy couple with young children, they needed a kitchen that was functional and as much storage as possible. Clever use of space and hardware has helped us maximize the storage and the layout is perfect for a young family with an island for the kids to sit at and do their homework whilst the parents are cooking and getting dinner ready.

The distinguishing trait of the I Naturali series is soil. A substance which on the one hand recalls all things primordial and on the other the possibility of being plied. As a result, the slab made from the ceramic lends unique value to the settings it clads.

The focal point of the kitchen is a set of tall, beautiful shaker cabinets, providing ample storage space and a touch of elegance. A tile backsplash is installed behind the stove and sink area, adding visual interest and protecting the walls. The flooring chosen for this gourmet kitchen is carefree vinyl plank wood, which replicates the look of real wood while offering durability and easy maintenance. The combination of these elements creates a stunning and functional space that is perfect for both cooking and entertaining.

The existing kitchen cabinets were refaced and the paint color matched to the master bathroom. Matte black pulls, black farm sink with Kohler gooseneck faucet, black pendant lights and Carrara marble countertops match the modern farmhouse theme throughout the home.
