In this kitchen, the blue base cabinets pack a punch of color, while the white uppers and backsplash create a light and airy space that looks bigger than the actual square footage. A modern kitchen remodel that incorporates that craftsmanship of the home. By flattening out the breakfast bar it opened up and brought the the two spaces together.

The original kitchen in this condominium was renovated arising from the need to replace Kitec plumbing. The work triangle remained generally the same, but numerous changes were made to improve the kitchen’s functionality, aesthetics, and lighting. Automation was also introduced. The goal was to design and build a modern contemporary functional kitchen with inspiring colours accented with textured wood features. The functionality was improved with the addition of an under counter microwave, which freed up countertop space. Additional and improved storage was also created by incorporating under cabinet drawers throughout the kitchen, a bar area with open glass shelving above, and open shelving to the right of the seating area. Upper cabinet storage was as well increased with storage above the fridge. Numerous lighting improvements were made including the addition of potlights. This was done by dropping the ceiling in the kitchen, which also created a visual division with the dining area. Automation was introduced as well into the space with HUE under cabinet lighting, and a touch faucet. The under cabinet lights are controlled by the Phillips Hue App that programs routines, scenes, and other settings. The kitchen features painted Shaker cabinets accented by textured wood shelving. The countertop surfaces are quartz with waterfalls on both sides of the island, which is a focal point. Shapes are also strongly identified in the design with the use of triangular tiles in the backsplash along with rectangular upper cabinets, and appliance doors and drawers. The kitchen is made most unique though with the uplifting use of colour in the cabinets that make this a bright and cheerful space. Aristea Photography

Authentic British Kitchen in Worthing, West Sussex A traditional kitchen with handmade cabinetry and dovetail joinery was required for this sunny seaside renovation. The Brief An ultra-luxurious, authentic kitchen was required for this development project undertaken by our contract department. To tie in with high ceilings and sash windows a traditional theme was sought to impress potential suitors of this wonderful property. The property is a four-storey townhouse near to the seaside in Worthing and has been developed to an exceptional standard for a private client. Design Elements The developer already had an idea of the layout of the space, with a wall-to-wall run and island as the preferred configuration. To add the authentic, traditional element to the project our handmade British kitchen option from Mereway Kitchens was required, boasting handmade cabinetry and dovetail joinery. A Diamond Grey finish has been opted for, which combines nicely with the sparkling quartz work surfaces. Special Inclusions To match the premium furnishings with premium functionality, a combination of Siemens cooking appliances has been utilised. Notable inclusions are a Siemens warming drawer, a combination oven and a Caple wine cabinet. Integrated appliances have been opted for in the form of Siemens refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher. Project Highlight The real standout of this project is the handmade cabinetry, which matches the grandeur of this property in every way. The dovetailed oak joinery is exhibited across all drawers and cupboards in this kitchen space. Understated door knobs and cup handles have been chosen to match the traditional style. The End Result This project is a fantastic example of the exceptional handcrafted cabinetry that we can offer from our British supplier. This kitchen might be small, but now it is mighty. Taking a dark closed in space and being able to open it up to create a broad, open concept kitchen that is now bright and modern, is one of the strongest transformations we have done so far this year. We started with removing walls, soffits and that dated popcorn ceiling. Taking the water heater outdoors gave us a bit more space as well. Once we had the room empty, we got to put it back together in a much more functional way. Adjusting the locations of the fridge and stove created a better working area for these homeowners. This kitchen now boasts a 30 inch range with matching stainless steel hood. Subway tile in a herringbone patter makes up the backsplash from stove to ceiling, and spreads across the whole kitchen space. Navy blue cabinets create a deep base for the bright white upper cabinets and countertops. The countertops are a Quartz material that is created to mimic a Carrara marble. A stunning addition to the space. Stainless steel fixtures throughout keep the look clean and minimalistic, such as the double spray Moen faucet. The apron front single bowl kink by Kohler in their White Haven style brings a touch of old world charm into the room. Adding to the functionality, a new sliding glass patio door took the place of the old outdated slider. Milgard provided the new energy efficient door, and kitchen window. Topping off the space is oversized crown moldings set atop risers on each of the upper cabinets. And last but certainly not least, is the 6x24, commercially rated porcelain tile that perfectly mimics a true old fashioned wood floor, with all the modern functionality. A perfect way to warm up the bright cool space.

We turned this historic Sauganash dark interior kitchen, family room, and dining room into a modern, bright, open, and family-friendly space. We took down walls, removed closets, added an island with a new hood and an induction cooktop, added a built-in oven and microwave, re-purposed various wood cabinets along with painting them all, added a ton of recessed lights, opened the back wall with a larger sliding door to the deck, installed an updated environmentally-friendly window, built a coordinated entertainment center that also functions as a storage space for jackets and shoes, re-finished the floors on both the first and second floors and the staircase, added a wet bar with a floating shelf, and re-roofed a leaking roof. The blue base cabinets for both the island and the wet bar complement the bright and modern white cabinets along with a the new blue glass backsplash. The island acts as a center point for family and friends to gather. The new larger sliding back door creates a smooth transition from the open interior to the exterior.
