Our Carmel design-build studio planned a beautiful open-concept layout for this home with a lovely kitchen, adjoining dining area, and a spacious and comfortable living space. We chose a classic blue and white palette in the kitchen, used high-quality appliances, and added plenty of storage spaces to make it a functional, hardworking kitchen. In the adjoining dining area, we added a round table with elegant chairs. The spacious living room comes alive with comfortable furniture and furnishings with fun patterns and textures. A stunning fireplace clad in a natural stone finish creates visual interest. This remodel incorporated the client’s love of artwork and color into a cohesive design with elegant, custom details that will stand the test of time. The space was closed in, dark and dated. The walls at the island were the first thing you saw when entering the condo. So we removed the walls which really opened it up to a welcoming space. Storage was an issue too so we borrowed space from the main floor bedroom closet and created a ‘butler’s pantry’. The client’s flair for the contemporary, original art, and love of bright colors is apparent in the materials, finishes and paint colors. Jewelry-like artisan pulls are repeated throughout the kitchen to pull it together. The Butler’s pantry provided extra storage for kitchen items and adds a little glam. The drawers are wrapped in leather with a Shagreen pattern (Asian sting ray). A creative mix of custom cabinetry materials includes gray washed white oak to complimented the new flooring and ground the mix of materials on the island, along with white gloss uppers and matte bright blue tall cabinets. With the exception of the artisan pulls used on the integrated dishwasher drawers and blue cabinets, push and touch latches were used to keep it as clean looking as possible. Kitchen details include a chef style sink, quartz counters, motorized assist for heavy drawers and various cabinetry organizers.

A modern kitchen in a custom blue and gray finish, made specially by the cabinetry manufacturer. A pre-existing cantilevered kitchen island was transformed into a stationary island with seating, storage, roll out shelving, and properly sized drawers for pots and pans. The open-concept condo features beautiful wooden beams that pairs nicely with the blue, gray, and white coloring. Project designed by Skokie renovation firm, Chi Renovation & Design. They serve the Chicagoland area, and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. You'll find their work from the Loop through Lincoln Park, Skokie, Evanston, Wilmette, and all of the way up to Lake Forest.

Clients Jason and Adam, after a successful living room and home bar redesign, wanted to give their kitchen a light and bright modern makeover. The stunning white quartzite counter tops with waterfall edge, and an eye-catching gray glass tile backsplash work perfectly together. We selected a combination of stark white and bluish-gray custom cabinets to compliment the existing bold design elements in their living room and bar area. Tech savvy elements, such as the chrome push/pop electrical outlets in the island, and hands-free trash drawer, allow for unrestricted culinary creativity. The now seamless transition from living room to kitchen creates a nice open airy feeling in this large multi-functional space.

We love the way this kitchen really pops with that gorgeous blue shiplap island and custom made black hood. We opened up the space by removing an old pantry and extended the kitchen into the family room to make a family friendly space for these wonderful Clients. A full height quartz backsplash from Pental behind the hood along with warm hardwood floors compliment the space for a picture perfect look.
