A gorgeous kitchen showcasing a brand new color palette of gray and bold blue! As this was the client’s childhood home, we wanted to preserve her memories while still refreshing the interior and bringing it up-to-date. We started with a new spatial layout and increased the size of wall openings to create the sense of an open plan without removing all the walls. By adding a more functional layout and pops of color throughout the space, we were able to achieve a youthful update to a cherished space without losing all the character and memories that the homeowner loved. Our clients were seeking a classic and stylish Shaker kitchen with a contemporary edge, to complement the architecture of their five-year-old house, which features a modern beamed ceiling and herringbone flooring. They also wanted a kitchen island to include banquette seating surrounding one end of a large industrial-style dining table with an Ash wooden table top that our clients already owned. We designed the main run of in frame cabinetry with a classic cornice to completely fit within the recessed space along the back wall behind the island, which is hand-painted in Stewkey Blue by Farrow & Ball. This includes a central inglenook and an overmantel that conceals a Siemens canopy extractor hood above a white Everhot range cooker. Overhead cabinets and undercounter storage cupboards were included within the design, together with oak dovetailed deep drawer storage boxes. A Samsung American-style fridge freezer was also integrated within the run. A 30mm thick quartz worktop in Tuscany colourway extends on either side of the range cooker and this is repeated on the kitchen island as well, with an overhang on both sides of the u-shaped design to accommodate bar stools beneath. In the centre of the island, we created u-shaped banquette seating upholstered in grey velvet to surround one end of the large rectangular dining table. To store their collection of fine wines, we specified two undercounter wine conditioners by Miele to fit within each end of the island to store reds, whites and Champagnes. Along the length of the island, facing the Everhot is a large ceramic double-bowl Belfast sink by Shaws of Darwen and a Quooker Cube tap, providing hot, cold, boiling and sparkling water. On the task side of the island, two 60cm dishwashers by Miele are integrated at either end of the cabinetry together with storage for pull-out bins and utility items. On a further run to the left of the island, we designed and made a large Shaker two-door pantry larder, hand-painted in All White by Farrow & Ball and featuring deep dovetail drawer boxes beneath. Extending on either side of the pantry is natural oak contemporary open shelving to mix with the traditional design of the kitchen. A further freestanding cabinet with a natural solid oak top was handmade to sit beneath the client’s wall-mounted television. Cup handles and knobs are all brushed brass by Crofts and Assinder, with matching brass butt hinges.

If your house already has an extension it is often impractical and not at all cost effective to take it down and start again. Consider upgrading by giving the space a modern face lift by installing new doors to the garden and changing the window. Then your new kitchen will give you with the new experience you are looking for without rebuilding the house This is exactly what happened in our clients’ classic Victorian house where the existing extension was built some years ago. We redesigned the lay-out by moving the kitchen to the opposite wall and freeing up lots of room for new folding back doors, a dining table and new entertaining space and extended access to the garden. The sink has been placed under a new modern widow with the hob further down on the main run, leaving the island clear for preparation and additional storage. The Brief Our client's brief? To create a contemporary yet timeless kitchen that maximises storage and workspaces while providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Furniture We opted for the minimalist, Pronorm Y-line Arctic White Lacquer & Stratus Grey Lacquer cabinets. The combination of white and grey hues adds depth and contrast to the space, while the lacquered finish enhances durability, making the space both functional and stylish. To complement the clean lines of the cabinetry, we selected a beautiful Artscut Bianco Mysterio Quartz countertop. The silky-smooth finish of the quartz surface provides an ideal workspace for meal prep and cooking, while its natural-looking veining adds depth and character to the kitchen. Appliances & Accessories We were keen to incorporate appliances and accessories that enhance the kitchen's efficiency without compromising its design. The Blanco sink, filter tap, and soap dispenser provide ensure functionality, while the Neff appliances and Bora hob add a touch of innovation and style. The Smoked Grey mirror splashback adds a subtle touch of glamour and reflects light throughout the kitchen, creating a bright and airy ambience. A luxury well-designed family kitchen was desired for a young family in Lymington. Their previous kitchen was tired and dark so they chose the brand new range ‘Minster’ from Mackintosh on the new ‘Graphite’ coloured cabinet. The new cabinet fully co-ordinates with the drawers and accessories making for a real luxury feel. To add a further opulent touch Quartzforms Ma White 20mm worktops were added for an affordable yet durable finish. The kitchen has been meticulously planned for this busy young, family so that everything has a home and in an accessible fashion. There is a lovely double shelved larder for all the lunchboxes, home baking, cereals, cookbooks, mixers and blenders – helping to keep the kitchen tidy on a day to day basis for organised family living. With further ample wall unit storage for teas, coffees, mugs and biscuits and glassware. In addition, there are wide deep drawers for crockery, cutlery and pans and oven trays to keep them out of site when not in use. A Le mans corner unit has also been fitted for ease of access to the corner keeping the kitchen clutter free. Even the rubbish is hidden with built in double ins for refuse and recycling. A large American Style, Neff Fridge Freezer has been plumbed in to give ice cold filtered water on tap and Ice cubes on demand with plenty of space for groceries for the family. A double oven has been built in with a gas hob. As the owners are tall a caple extractor fan, sloping in design, is the perfect choice to ensure they don’t bang their head when cooking. Next to the hob are pull out trays for oils, herbs and spices. The integrated Bosch dishwasher makes light work of dirty dishes. An 1810 company undermount stainless steel sink was chosen with the Caple Avel Tap in chrome. For finishing touches a ‘feature brick tiled wall was added near the dining area along with Moduleo flooring which is comfortable underfoot, modern looking, and so easy to clean. Plus with a 25 year guarantee; for this family was the obvious affordable choice. Authentic British Kitchen in Worthing, West Sussex A traditional kitchen with handmade cabinetry and dovetail joinery was required for this sunny seaside renovation. The Brief An ultra-luxurious, authentic kitchen was required for this development project undertaken by our contract department. To tie in with high ceilings and sash windows a traditional theme was sought to impress potential suitors of this wonderful property. The property is a four-storey townhouse near to the seaside in Worthing and has been developed to an exceptional standard for a private client. Design Elements The developer already had an idea of the layout of the space, with a wall-to-wall run and island as the preferred configuration. To add the authentic, traditional element to the project our handmade British kitchen option from Mereway Kitchens was required, boasting handmade cabinetry and dovetail joinery. A Diamond Grey finish has been opted for, which combines nicely with the sparkling quartz work surfaces. Special Inclusions To match the premium furnishings with premium functionality, a combination of Siemens cooking appliances has been utilised. Notable inclusions are a Siemens warming drawer, a combination oven and a Caple wine cabinet. Integrated appliances have been opted for in the form of Siemens refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher. Project Highlight The real standout of this project is the handmade cabinetry, which matches the grandeur of this property in every way. The dovetailed oak joinery is exhibited across all drawers and cupboards in this kitchen space. Understated door knobs and cup handles have been chosen to match the traditional style. An elegant lay-on painted shaker kitchen in a pale, soft green. This colour is so calming and has a real timeless quality to it. The lay-on shaker style in this colour is ideal for creating a more classic feel in your kitchen. This kitchen features under cabinet lighting to add to the ambient lighting options and a pull out pantry unit, which really maximises the storage space. To create that ideal breakfast spot and create more of a zone for the kitchen, we designed a peninsula to separate the kitchen from the living space. This is the perfect spot for that first cup of coffee for the day. The worktop is the ever stylish Konigstone Ontario. This is a white quartz with very subtle veining, it is so stylish, we love it. In the dining room, we designed a run of tall units in matching style to the kitchen furniture. This provides a wealth of storage and the coordinating painted furniture helps tie the two areas together. For the finishing touches, we used Crofts & Assinder handles in American Copper, Karndean flooring and a charcoal coloured glass splashback.

This is a home for a young professional, growing family in Balham. This Modern shaker is in a classic grey with a navy blue island and a matching colour glass splash-back on the hob run. This generous space had enough width for the kitchen run to be on both sides, with a sink on the back wall, parallel to the island. The sink run was completed with a grey mirror splash-back to provide additional depth to the interiors, giving the illusion the kitchen is much larger. An island with seating provided not just an additional preparation area, but also beautifully divided the kitchen from the large dining area at the back.
