Contemporary German Kitchen in Horsham, West Sussex A rethink of this Horsham kitchen helped create a new functional island space, new kitchen entrance and matching utility. The Brief This client sought to make changes to their previous kitchen involving a rethink of their kitchen island, in addition to an all-round modernisation. From early project conversations it was clear that well organised storage was key, as well as including plenty of worktop space. As part of the project, creating a new doorway into the kitchen was also required, as well as an in keeping renovation of a utility space. Design Elements Designer Alistair has utilised a layout not dissimilar from the previous kitchen, instead replacing stand-alone island with a peninsula island space connected to the kitchen. This minor layout change helped to incorporate the vast worktop space this client required, as well as the social island area that the client desired. A subtle two-tone theme was another wish of the client, with glossy handleless finishes Satin Grey and Slate Grey contributing to the contemporary aesthetic of this space. The design is accompanied by plenty of lighting options to add a further modern feel, including undercabinet downlights, ceiling downlights and plinth lighting. Behind the hob a glass splashback has been included which has been chosen in a black shimmer finish, complimenting the overall design as well as the white quartz work surfaces, named Snowy Ibiza. Special Inclusions The client was keen to keep the kitchen area feeling light and spacious, and so another key part of the design was the use of full-height cabinetry to house the majority of appliances. Here a number of Neff appliances feature, including a Slide & Hide oven, combination oven, warming drawer, refrigerator and freezer which have both been integrated behind furniture. A Neff hob has been placed just to the side, above which a built-in Neff extractor is integrated to remove any cooking odours. Opposite, a Quooker boiling water tap has been installed above a Blanco quartz composed sink which ties in nicely with the chosen work surface. Looking towards the utility area, sideboard style furniture has been included as a space to store small appliances that are used daily, as well as cupboard space for added extra storage. Here you can also see the new doorway into the kitchen, which leads from the hallway of this property. Project Highlight A matching utility upgrade was a key part of this project, and designer Alistair was tasked with integrating extra storage, laundry appliances, plus a small sink area. This area makes use of Satin Grey furniture and a laminate work surface option. Beneath the work surface you might also spot a bed area for this client’s pooch. The End Result For this project designer Alistair has created a clever design to achieve all the elements of this project brief, including an important island change and a matching utility. Our client wanted a functional kitchen with plenty of counter and storage space. We created this design in the same footprint of the existing kitchen, but switched up some of elements. Adding a double oven, vent hood and pantry storage we were able to maximize the use of space.

We opened up the wall on the left to create more space and light into the kitchen and exposed the concrete walls of the condo building to give a little raw/industrial touch to the space. Features Wolf custom cabinets and modern lighting with skinny profile fridge and get LVT throughout the unit.

The vertically-laid glass mosaic backsplash adds a beautiful and modern detail that frames the stainless steel range hood to create a grand focal point from across the room. Ultramodern German Kitchen in Worthing, West Sussex This German kitchen project in Worthing required extensive structural works to divide two rooms and create an open-plan space. Designer Phil has created an ultramodern handleless kitchen space, complete with high-tech appliances and TV area. The Brief A spacious and vast open-plan kitchen was the end goal of this project, which was not an easy task considering the space was originally two rooms. Advanced structural works were required to support the rest of the property, with flooring, lighting and an exterior bi-fold door also part of the plans. Designer Phil was tasked with envisaging a design which incorporated all this client’s requirements, whilst implementing a homely and modern kitchen theme. Design Elements Before fitting the kitchen, our structural team had to undertake significant works. Following the removal of a dividing wall, four steels had to be fixed in a square formation to support the property, this left a huge space for the kitchen Phil had designed for this client. A homely, yet modern theme was preferred with a combination of Stone Grey and Slate grey matt units opted for. These two finishes are complimented by Havana oak wood accents and the handless design of the kitchen. To meet the client’s requirements, an island, TV area and full-height corner storage feature, in addition to a wall-to-wall run which houses kitchen appliances and storage. Special Inclusions Special inclusions are aplenty in this kitchen. A grid of appliances is comprised of a Neff slide & hide oven, combination oven, warming drawer, coffee centre and Caple wine cabinet. Each provide an array of useful functions for this client, and elsewhere are accompanied by a Neff induction hob, Neff telescopic extractor hood and a Quooker 100°C boiling water tap. Designer Phil has incorporated numerous design features like a glass-ended unit on the island, cookbook storage space, feature shelving in the TV area and a raised natural wood work surface on the island. Our structural team were also tasked with widening an exterior doorway and fitting bi-fold doors which look out to the vibrant garden. Project Highlight The TV area is a lovely highlight of this project. Phil has framed this with additional storage and decorative wood effect shelving. Nearby a full-height radiator and full-height storage provide warmth and even more storage to the kitchen space. The End Result The end result is a space that is unrecognisable and has been completely transformed with the expertise of our fitting team. In addition to the structural works, Karndean flooring, lighting and heating improvements have been made involving almost every facet of our installation team.
