This gut renovation of a 1960's galley kitchen opens the kitchen to the living room and allows natural light to flood the space. All new recessed lighting in a drop ceiling with LED linear lights installed in the reveal create a floating appearance. Appliances are integrated into the cabinetry to reduce visual clutter. A simple, clean-lined and modern aesthetic will stand the test of time.

Project by Studio H:T principal in charge Brad Tomecek (now with Tomecek Studio Architecture). This project tests the theory of bringing high quality design to a prefabricated factory setting. Enrolled in the LEED-Home Pilot, this residence completed certification. The modular home was conceived as two boxes that slide above one another to create outdoor living space and a lower covered rear entry. The passive solar design invites large amounts of light from the south while minimizing openings to the east and west. Factory construction saves both time and costs while reducing waste and using a controlled labor force. Built in a factory north of Denver, the home arrived by flatbed truck in two pieces and was craned into place in about 4 hours providing a fast, sustainable, cost effective alternative to traditional homebuilding techniques. Upgraded lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, doors, door hardware, windows, tile and bamboo flooring were incorporated into the design. 80% of the residence was completed in the factory in less than 3 weeks and other items were finished on site including the exterior stucco, garage, metal railing and stair. Stack-Slide-Stitch describes the conceptual process of how to tie together two distinct modular boxes. Stack refers to setting one modular directly on top of the other. Slide refers to the action that creates an upper southern deck area while simultaneously providing a covered rear entry area. The stitching or interlocking occurs with the upward extension of the lower volume with the front deck walls and with the rear two story vertical.

Follow the spiral pattern. From the lower left go right, then up and across the deeper cabinets, down the double doors and a quick right to the center square. Or, follow in reverse. The tiles are 1"x 2" multiple shades of gray glass in a vertical arrangement to enhance the tall space.

This 2250 sq. ft. space soars above New York City's Fifth Avenue overlooking the beautiful Central Park. The owner had an extensive art collection and wanted the rooms to reflect their artistic sensibility and warmth. The furnishings combined their love of modern art with their dreamy nostalgia. Many of the pieces were centered around the owner's love of contemporary furniture, many of which were created by famous furniture designer Mario Bellini. Each room tells a story, one that the owner will continue to tell throughout the years. Featured brands include: Mario Bellini furnishings, Armani Casa, and Flos and Artemide lighting, and Venetian plaster.

Glacier Glass Splashback. This client opted for two tone cabinets and therefore wanted a neutral backdrop to make to make their cabinets sing! We created a fully fitted glass splashback around the entire work surface. The two-tone units were further complimented by a matching two-tone dining table. These stunning Kitchen cabinets were designed by Wrights Design House. Glass is the perfect alternative to tiles. Modern, easy clean and completely customisable it has many advantages. It is possible to choose any colour or design, creating something completely unique. The versatility of glass means that it can be shaped around any obstacle, including cooker hoods and shelving. Custom kitchen, modern style with flutted glass doors. This custom kitchen was designed by Life/House/Home, a high end home designer in maine. We worked closely with the designer on all details of this kitchen. With very high tolerance this kitchen fits neatly between both walls and runs floor to ceiling. The island is topped with a custom made cherry butcher block. All cabinetry is built and finished in our shop and delivered for installation on site.
