This Dover Shores, Newport Beach home was built with a young hip Newport Beach family in mind. Bright and airy finishes were used throughout, with a modern twist. The palette is neutral with lots of geometric blacks, whites and grays. Cement tile, beautiful hardwood floors and natural stone were used throughout. The designer collaborated with the builder on all finishes and fixtures inside and out to create an inviting and impressive home. David Cairns, The OC Image

The house is located on the site of a former single storey bungalow constructed in the 1950’s. Due to the siting of the property within the plot, , a third of the house is within a subterranean basement level. Above ground is a pure white cube, with large full height windows that allow light to flood the space. The property contrasts perfectly with the established trees to the front and the surrounding area.
At the heart of the project the intention was to create amazing internal spaces from the basement level up to the first floor. To help achieve this, high ceilings, full height windows and a large open entrance hall (with a large slit rooflight) were proposed.
The house has a unique architectural, linear, cubic form, it is set within a conservation area and surrounded by period properties.
Siding Express (Maintenance Free Siding)
The modern white home was completed using LP SmartSide White siding. The main siding is 7" wood grain with LP Shingle and Board and Batten used as an accent. this home has industrial modern touches throughout!

The inspiration for the remodel of this San Francisco Victorian came from an unlikely source – the owner’s modern-day cabinet of curiosities, brimming with jars filled with preserved aquatic body parts and specimens. This room now becomes the heart of the home, with glimpses into the collection a constant presence from every space. A partially translucent glass wall (derived from the genetic code of a Harbor Seal) and shelving system protects the collection and divides the owner’s study from the adjacent family room.

Guadalajara, San Clemente Coastal Modern Remodel
This major remodel and addition set out to take full advantage of the incredible view and create a clear connection to both the front and rear yards. The clients really wanted a pool and a home that they could enjoy with their kids and take full advantage of the beautiful climate that Southern California has to offer. The existing front yard was completely given to the street, so privatizing the front yard with new landscaping and a low wall created an opportunity to connect the home to a private front yard. Upon entering the home a large staircase blocked the view through to the ocean so removing that space blocker opened up the view and created a large great room.
Indoor outdoor living was achieved through the usage of large sliding doors which allow that seamless connection to the patio space that overlooks a new pool and view to the ocean. A large garden is rare so a new pool and bocce ball court were integrated to encourage the outdoor active lifestyle that the clients love.
The clients love to travel and wanted display shelving and wall space to display the art they had collected all around the world. A natural material palette gives a warmth and texture to the modern design that creates a feeling that the home is lived in. Though a subtle change from the street, upon entering the front door the home opens up through the layers of space to a new lease on life with this remodel.
