What Stacey was after was a Shaker door with little ornamentation as possible – no extra beveling or grooves, no visible seams, and a 90° angle between the recessed panel and the edges of the frames. That last point about the 90° angle is why Stacey chose Scherr’s over Semihandmade Doors, another popular manufacturer of custom doors for IKEA kitchen cabinets. If you look very very carefully at SHM’s Supermatte Shaker door, you’ll notice what we mean.

Vintage architecture meets modern-day charm with this Mission Style home in the Del Ida Historic District, only two blocks from downtown Delray Beach. The exterior features intricate details such as the stucco coated adobe architecture, a clay barrel roof and a warm oak paver driveway. Once inside this 3,515 square foot home, the intricate design and detail are evident with dark wood floors, shaker style cabinetry, a Estatuario Silk Neolith countertop & waterfall edge island. The remarkable downstairs Master Wing is complete with wood grain cabinetry & Pompeii Quartz Calacatta Supreme countertops, a 6′ freestanding tub & frameless shower. Town & Style Magazine I would characterize this MCM project as a bundle of stress, labor of love in more ways than one. Picture this…clients come in town from LA for one weekend, tour a sprawling 7000 sf home nestled in Frontenac, share their vision with us, and away they go, back to LA, pack up their life and prepare for their move that was quickly approaching. First things first, I must say, it is one of my most favorite projects and homes to date. I. want. this. house. Like, for real. Walking in the home, you are welcomed by wall to wall sliding glass doors that house an indoor pool, center courtyard, and this [now] gorgeous home wraps itself around these unique centerpieces of living space. You can see the pool and courtyard from almost any point of the home. The natural light, clean lines and mid century modern architecture was preserved and honed back to its remarkable state. We had to design, project manage, construct the renovations…everything from the ground up within just a few months. Did I mention the kitchen was nearly gutted, new floors, removing walls, bathroom face lifts, overall design, interior and exterior paint, electrical…..whew, I’m tired just reliving the experience.

Completed in 2017, this project features midcentury modern interiors with copper, geometric, and moody accents. The design was driven by the client's attraction to a grey, copper, brass, and navy palette, which is featured in three different wallpapers throughout the home. As such, the townhouse incorporates the homeowner's love of angular lines, copper, and marble finishes. The builder-specified kitchen underwent a makeover to incorporate copper lighting fixtures, reclaimed wood island, and modern hardware. In the master bedroom, the wallpaper behind the bed achieves a moody and masculine atmosphere in this elegant "boutique-hotel-like" room. The children's room is a combination of midcentury modern furniture with repetitive robot motifs that the entire family loves. Like in children's space, our goal was to make the home both fun, modern, and timeless for the family to grow into. This photo really gives you a sense of how the new peninsula brings things into much closer reach for the cook. The sink is Kraus and the countertop is soapstone. If that faucet looks familiar, you’re not having déjà vu. It’s the same one from last week’s kitchen! Just like IKD customer Liz, Stacey raved about the champagne color and loves how much it complements the grey Shaker style doors.
