Embarking on the design journey of Wabi Sabi Refuge, I immersed myself in the profound quest for tranquility and harmony. This project became a testament to the pursuit of a tranquil haven that stirs a deep sense of calm within. Guided by the essence of wabi-sabi, my intention was to curate Wabi Sabi Refuge as a sacred space that nurtures an ethereal atmosphere, summoning a sincere connection with the surrounding world. Deliberate choices of muted hues and minimalist elements foster an environment of uncluttered serenity, encouraging introspection and contemplation. Embracing the innate imperfections and distinctive qualities of the carefully selected materials and objects added an exquisite touch of organic allure, instilling an authentic reverence for the beauty inherent in nature's creations. Wabi Sabi Refuge serves as a sanctuary, an evocative invitation for visitors to embrace the sublime simplicity, find solace in the imperfect, and uncover the profound and tranquil beauty that wabi-sabi unveils.

The main bedroom lounge is an extension of the main bedroom and an area where one can watch TV and work at the ample space the long desk provides. It has large L-Shaped custom made couches that are extra deep for comfort and relaxation. Textured fabrics were used for a few scatter cushions and a large chunky knit throw is the perfect cover to snuggle under on a chilly evening. Grass cloth wall paper in a light blue hue adds texture to the walls in this lounge area and a large Katherine Wood commissioned artwork works beautifully in this space against the wall paper. Custom made coffee table and side tables were manufactured in Oak and adds another material and layer to this area. A large lamp with raffia shade gives this lounge a tranquil ambience in the evenings. A soft area rug grounds and warms the space and adds yet another texture and depth of tone.

Хозяйка очень хорошо готовит и любит принимать гостей. Хозяин разбирается хорошо как в музыке, так и в вине. Они обладают очень хорошим вкусом и путешествуют по всему миру». Kaplan Architects, AIA Location: Redwood City , CA, USA The kitchen at one end of the great room has a large island. The custom designed light fixture above the island doubles as a pot rack. The combination cherry wood and stainless steel cabinets are custom made. the floor is walnut 5 inch wide planks. The wall of windows provide a view of the Santa Clara Valley.

В наследство от родителей, которые жили в этой квартире раньше, заказчику осталось много антикварной мебели. Кроме того, был и багаж собственных вещей, которые нужно было вписать в интерьер: большое количество книг, искусство, кое-что из мебели. На стене — картина Елены Руфовой «Река Кама» (холст, масло)

The Caramel Modern Farmhouse design is one of our fan favorites. There are so many things to love. This home was renovated to have an open first floor that allowed the clients to see all the way to their kitchen space. The homeowners were young parents and wanted a space that was multi-functional yet toddler-friendly. By incorporating a play area in the living room and all baby proof furniture and finishes, we turned this vintage home into a modern dream.
