The Garden Pavilion is a detatched accessory dwelling unit off a main house located in Seattle. Initialement configuré avec 4 chambres, deux salles de bain & un espace de vie relativement cloisonné, la disposition de cet appartement dans son état existant convenait plutôt bien aux nouveaux propriétaires. Cependant, les espaces impartis de la chambre parentale, sa salle de bain ainsi que la cuisine ne présentaient pas les volumes souhaités, avec notamment un grand dégagement de presque 4m2 de surface perdue. L’équipe d’Ameo Concept est donc intervenue sur plusieurs points : une optimisation complète de la suite parentale avec la création d’une grande salle d’eau attenante & d’un double dressing, le tout dissimulé derrière une porte « secrète » intégrée dans la bibliothèque du salon ; une ouverture partielle de la cuisine sur l’espace de vie, dont les agencements menuisés ont été réalisés sur mesure ; trois chambres enfants avec une identité propre pour chacune d’entre elles, une salle de bain fonctionnelle, un espace bureau compact et organisé sans oublier de nombreux rangements invisibles dans les circulations. L’ensemble des matériaux utilisés pour cette rénovation ont été sélectionnés avec le plus grand soin : parquet en point de Hongrie, plans de travail & vasque en pierre naturelle, peintures Farrow & Ball et appareillages électriques en laiton Modelec, sans oublier la tapisserie sur mesure avec la réalisation, notamment, d’une tête de lit magistrale en tissu Pierre Frey dans la chambre parentale & l’intégration de papiers peints Ananbo. Un projet haut de gamme où le souci du détail fut le maitre mot !

This extension of a 100-year old cottage in beautiful, pastoral Little Compton created a comfortable, cozy environment for domestic life and entertaining – spaces that are as unpretentious as the simple original building. Unique elements include bluestone countertops and hearth slab, custom vessel sinks and tiles created by the owner – a talented ceramic artist, a freestanding two-way hearth, salvaged antique doors and hardware, interior sliding barn doors and custom walnut casework.

Mientras que la pared-mueble de madera une visualmente los espacios, también crea espacios en su interior: muebles para la tv, mesa de estudio, puertas, almacenaje, etc.

Arredare il soggiorno con delle librerie in cartongesso fu un piccolo esercizio di Architettura d’Interni di qualche tempo fa, ma molto stimolante e divertente, quasi un cubo di Rubik. Un’appartamento di nuova costruzione di una giovanissima coppia, con una zona giorno con cucinotto già diviso e la necessità di organizzare il piccolo soggiorno/pranzo con un divano, qualche mobile contenitore, un tavolo e un mobile porta TV. Vista la dimensione ridotta, e il posizionamento di porte e finestre, gli spazi liberi per attrezzare le pareti erano pochi, e risultava un gioco di tetris riuscire ad avere un buon tavolo comodo per tutti i giorni e che si allungasse per gli ospiti, un divano di dimensioni non troppo esigue e che fosse opportunamente orientato di fronte alla TV. Ho optato per un gioco di librerie in cartongesso che portassero in se tutte le funzioni, contenitiva, espressiva, di illuminazione, e che inglobassero anche un tavolo ben ampio per un ambiente così contenuto.

The Ladies Library features Ann Sacks handglazed tiles at the fireplace, and a mid century couch that was saved from a vintage shop and re-covered. The soft curves of the sofa are reflected in the Japanese walnut table and the custom made side chairs. The window seats offer a wonderful perch to gaze out at the lake and the garden.
